Stanley Staco reports a man was stabbed in the neck and other places around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday at Pagel Playground, Hyde Park Avenue and Wyvern Street. Because of the severity of the injuries, the homicide unit was called in.

Usaama Rahim's mother, brother, wife and other relatives this afternoon stood in the Roslindale parking lot where he was fatally shot on Tuesday, listening as the family lawyer said they hoped to "work productively and cooperate" with local and federal investigators to determine exactly why Rahim died there Tuesday morning. In an affidavit in the case against an Everett man, an FBI agent today gave the explanation for why a Boston cop and an FBI agent felt it important to confront Usaama Rahim in Roslindale yesterday: An 5 a.m. phone call, monitored by federal and local terrorism investigators, in which Rahim allegedly explained he didn't want to wait to travel out of state to behead a specific person, so was going to go out and kill one of the local "boys in blue." Boston Police report a tip led them to both the driver and the car involved in a hit and run on Washington Street at Beech and Walworth last month that sent a man walking across the street to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say they found the car yesterday and towed it away, pending execution of a search warrant on it. The driver, Eddie Cartagena, 25, will be summonsed to appear in West Roxbury Municipal Court on several motor-vehicle charges, police say.

The Herald reports after police and the FBI showed surveillance video to them at BPD headquarters. Officials say they will not release the video publicly until after Usaama Rahim's family gets a chance to look at it.

UPDATE: The Globe reports Rahim and that guy up in Everett were planning to try to behead a police officer. Wright is scheduled for arraignment in federal court at 3:30 p.m.

Wicked Local Roslindale reports Mayor Walsh and Police Commissioner William Evans attended last night's scheduled meeting of the Roslindale Board of Trade down at the Sons of Italy that they could go to sleep secure that the neighborhood was not under any sort of threat following yesterday's fatal confrontation in the CVS parking lot (which led the nightly newscasts on ABC, CBS and NBC).

UPDATE: WHDH reports a man with a connection to Rahim was arrested in Everett.

A 26-year-old Roslindale man under a terror watch left law-enforcement officers no choice this morning but to shoot him, Police Commissioner William Evans said.

Evans said surveillance video from the small shopping plaza on Washington Street at Enneking Parkway showed a Boston police officer and an FBI agent retreating when Usaama Rahim began going after them with a "large military knife" shortly after 7 a.m. Read more.

A man under surveillance by a federal terrorism task force was shot around 7 a.m. outside the CVS on Washington Street at West Roxbury Parkway. He was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he died. Read more.

The city holds a meeting next week to discuss a proposal to replace a parking space on Washington Street with a "bike corral" that would give up to ten bicyclists a place to secure their bikes during stays in Roslindale Square.

The space would be next to the crosswalks from Adams Park to the other side of Washington at Cummins Highway.

The session starts at 6 p.m. in the Roslindale Community Center, conveniently located across the street from the proposed location, on June 10.
