WBUR reports a worker died in a construction incident at 65 Northern Ave. in the Seaport around 6:30 this morning.

The Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health reports the man died during "the unloading of street curbing material when the heavy blocks became loose and crushed him."

Caught in Southie reports state Sen. Nick Collins is vowing to fight a proposal by the MBTA to end 11 service at Broadway, which would force people who now use it to get to Tufts Medical Center and nearby areas to take a bus and two subway lines to get to work, and to double the length of the 7 route.

Old fireboat spraying water in Boston Harbor

Handmaid had a great view on Fan Pier this morning of two fireboats, one an active BFD vessel, the other a retired 1940s fireboat seen above, shooting water high into the air, as part of a "water cannon display" for the National Fire Protection Association's conference in Boston.

Around 3:25 p.m., somebody, possibly on a scooter, fired three shots on Dorchester Street in the area of Rogers Street. He didn't hit anybody, but three vehicles got fresh bullet holes.

Goslings take advantage of puddle

Michael Spicher spotted some geese littles taking advantage of a puddle near the Expressway and the narrow end of Fort Point Channel that splits the South End from South Boston today. Amy Deveau, who lives nearby, though, is not liking the scene:

this stresses me out. I helped escort a family of geese under 93 and stopped traffic in both directions and when we all made it to the other side I burst into tears. I hope these lil guys make it back to the channel.

Double rainbow over Pleasure Bay in South Boston

It didn't last long, but a wind-heavy storm brought down trees and power lines in Hyde Park and Roslindale and turned Truman Parkway by the Hyde Park Stop & Shop into a lake.
