The Boston Licensing Board yesterday rejected a request from Foodies, 230 Broadway, for a license to sell beer and wine.

The proposed license had been opposed by Al's Liquors - which had put out a protest sandwich board a few doors down.

In addition to Al's, Foodies customers can stock up on "curated craft beers and spirits" at Social Wines across from Amrheins.

The Globe reports General Electric is considering the South Boston Waterfront as a home for its corporate headquarters.

City and state officials are offering the "property tax relief and tax credits" that have become de rigueur in trying to attract the sorts of companies that will make certain Globe business writers very happy that Boston can finally regain at least one multinational corporate headquarters, because we've apparently been suffering a horrible malaise at our lack of said corporate giants having their leaders regularly ride through our streets in limousines. Or as the Globe puts it, GE moving its executives here would prove "a civic boost" for a saddened region.

City and state officials joined with the Richard family to announce a parcel now owned by the MBTA next to the museum will be turned into a park honoring the memory of the Dorchester boy who only wanted peace.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Transit Police report:

A male, age unknown , while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an inbound Red Line subway train. Boston Fire extricated the male and he was transported to a local area hospital with serious injuries. Shuttle bus service was set up between JFK and Park Street.

Two men were ordered held without bail today on charges they murdered Maurice Scott, 38, on Old Colony Avenue in South Boston Saturday night. A third man, allegedly a passenger in their getwaway car, was charged with possession of crack with intent to distribute.

According to Assistant Suffolk County District Attorney Mark Hallal, Boston and State Police found Scott laying on the ground around 8:30 p.m. next to his girlfriend's Mercedes-Benz outside 425 Old Colony Ave. A witness said he spotted Scott already on the ground when "a very large man" with "very large thighs" shot him several more times as he lay there. Stanley Staco reports a man was shot repeatedly around 8:30 p.m.

Boston Police report the man, found at 425 Old Colony Ave., was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Jonathan Matos, 26, of Mattapan, was arrested this afternoon, shortly after a Suffolk County grand jury indicted him for the Jan. 7, 2013 shooting death of Jonathan Reyes, 18, on W. 2 Street, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office and Boston Police report.

The grand jury charged Matos with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, authorities say, adding Matos fired repeated rounds at Reyes.

A squicked-out citizen complains about what she saw at Dorchester Street and W. 4th:

There were a few black trash bags filled on the sidewalk this morning and as I walked by approx 10 cat-size rats came running out. No pic available as I was too traumatized and screaming.

A peeved citizen, or maybe a citizen who's trying to be funny, it's hard to tell when it comes to Southie, filed a complaint today that these two cars, parked outside 61 M St., don't have residential parking permits.
