The Dig reports DCR is soliciting bids for a $75,000 contract to create new signs that are somehow bolder and more, um, impactful, than the current "CARS ONLY" signs in preventing reading-impaired truckers from getting on the river roads.

DCR will continue to shut Memorial Drive on Saturdays and Sundays between Western Avenue and JFK Street to cars through Nov. 29.

KMV had his eye on an underpass on the outbound side of Memorial Drive near the Longfellow earlier this morning when two cars tried to make it across a new lake there, but only one made it.
