Bruce Wall is now all but promising some excitement on Friday, Feb. 27, when Lovell Dyett supporters show up on Soldiers Field Road to demand Dyett be moved to a time slot where most people are awake enough to hear him. He's claiming WBZ has told him he and his followers are not welcome on its property and that:

Pastor Wall is concerned that his planned peaceful rally could turn ugly and this is not what he wants his people to encounter. He does not want people to be hurt if the WBZ security and Boston Police start to haul people away.

Because, you know, there's absolutely no nearby public space, like, oh, a public park and parking lot where protesters could show WBZ their feelings.

Lovell Dyett fans want him back at a decent hour

Lovell Dyett supporters don't think much of the way WBZ brought him back - via a taped 30-minute show airing at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Rev. Bruce Wall reports the Friends of Lovell Dyett are planning a protest march on Friday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. around the 'BZ studios at 1170 Soldiers Field Rd.

[WBZ Program Director] Peter Casey is saying, by his actions, that he does not care what we have to say and that he will do what he wants to do. It is time that we take a stand and fight for a man who has fought for us.

I live in Rob Consalvo's city-council district. Seems like a nice enough guy, certainly no John Tobin or Chuck Turner on the big name/charisma scale, but if you call his office (or even just see him on the street somewhere) and ask for some help, his office will try to help you.

And now Bruce Wall, the tourist-scaring minister, wants to run against Consalvo, largely, it seems, because he hates Tom Menino.

I have to admit I never realized Wall actually lived in Hyde Park; I associate him strictly with Dorchester, where his church is. I'm thinking a lot of people will think the same thing and he's going to have a hell of a time unseating Consalvo; and that many will see him as unfairly trying to use Hyde Park and Roslindale in his increasingly senseless head-butting with the mayor.

Last week, the Rev. Bruce Wall was criticized by some for leading a potential witness to a triple shooting away from police.

D. L. Sands says Wall has nothing to apologize for:

Justifying your actions in this situation is senseless because as a leader, people will always question the things you do. You are expected to act and appear as though you have it all together. Lots of folks wouldn't have the courage to be out in the streets after shootings, talking to residents and wiping away the tears of young mothers. You acted out of instinct. ...

What's the deal with Bruce Wall and the police?

During the Charles Stuart case, police seemed to go out of their way to go after young black men (at least, until they discovered that Stuart had murdered his wife all by himself). Are there any allegations the police are harassing young black men now as they investigate crimes? I ask because the Rev. Bruce Wall has taken to interfering with the police investigation of the Codman Square triple shooting - going so far as to tell a potential witness not to talk to police. Why?

At-large city council candidate Kevin McCrea spent the night in the apartment building being re-claimed from the druggies by the Rev. Bruce Wall. He reports on how easy it was to arrange a drug deal even with all the cops and media types everywhere:

... I wanted to find out where the drugs were coming from, and so I asked a couple people whom I thought were likely selling drugs and sure enough, in a few minutes time I had two guys competing for my drug sale. ... The hispanic guy told me that I could get whatever I wanted, that the woman gets everything delivered to her and I could have it there in now time. The black guy kept saying he could deliver the product quicker, he was just up the street. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I only had $10 bucks on me. ... You know you have a drug problem when a white guy in a black neighborhood can get whatever he wants on a street where its been publicly announced that there is going to be a neighborhood watch and an increased police presence.
