Man shot to death in Roxbury

UPDATE: Boston Police report the victim, a man in his 40s, died at Boston Medical Center.

A man was shot around 9:45 p.m. at 21 Nazing St. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police shut the entire street to search for evidence and witnesses.

The suspect was described as black, average height, thin build, dressed all in black, with some red around the collar.

SotoBoston Police report a 19-year-old man was stabbed around 4:20 a.m. in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Centre Street and S. Huntington Avenue. The victim was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Police declined to identify him, but friends on Twitter and Facebook identified him as Kenny "Black" Soto.

Boston Police report finding the body of a man in his 50s at 3 Virginia St. shortly after 1 p.m.

The man, stabbed several times, was pronounced dead at the scene. He is Dorchester's 23rd murder victim this year (map).

Man shot to death in Dorchester

A man in his 40s was found shot around 1 a.m. outside 20 Nahant Ave. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, a police spokesman said this morning.

The man, not otherwise identified by police, is Dorchester's 22nd murder victim this year.

Boston Police report a 22-year-old man died after being shot repeatedly around 11:45 p.m. at the Mobil station at Blue Hill Avenue and Babson Street.

Two shot, one dead in Roxbury

Boston Police report two men were shot around 9 p.m. outside 40 Kensington Park. One victim, in his mid 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, in his mid 30s, was taken to Boston Medical Center in critical condition.

This was the second fatal double shooting on Kensington Park in less than two months.

The dead victim is Roxbury's seventh murder victim this year (map).

Two teens shot in Dorchester; one dies, one near death

Boston Police report two teens, one 16, one 14, were found shot around 3:20 p.m. outside 253 Geneva Ave.

Both were taken to Boston Medical Center. The 16-year-old died not long after; the 14-year-old remains near death, police say.

Channel 5 reports the shooter was on a bicycle when he fired at the two repeatedly.

The dead teen is Dorchester's 21st murder victim this year (map).

Boston Police report a man was fatally shot around 9:20 p.m. yesterday at 15 Abbot St.

Police identified the victim only as black and 29. He is Dorchester's 20th murder victim this year.

Woman's body found in Brighton apartment

UPDATE: Boston Police report an autopsy shows the cause of death was murder by blunt trauma.

Boston Police report they are awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of death of a 30-year-old woman whose body was found yesterday in a unit at 52 Cummings Rd.

Man stabbed to death near Ruggles

Updated 3 p.m.

Justin Albert, 22, of the South End, died early today when he was surrounded by a group of men at Cunard and Tremont streets and then stabbed repeatedly, according to Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Steven Rolley, 29, of Dorchester, was arrested not long after. He was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today for murder in Roxbury District Court, the DA's office says. Prosecutors say surveillance video shows the men running away in different directions as Albert fell to the ground with fatal stab wounds to the neck and stomach.

A nearby security guard apprehended Rolley, who still had blood on his clothing, just moments after the incident.

The South End News identifies Albert as the grandson of South End activist Jeanette Boone.

Teen dies in South End shooting

SierraBoston Police report an 18-year-old shot repeatedly at W. Brookline and Tremont streets around 7:20 p.m. died not long after at Boston Medical Center.

The teen, identified by family and friends on Facebook as Alex "Blanco" Sierra, was found inside El Barbaritos hair salon.

Two suspects, spotted fleeing in a gold minivan, were tracked to the area of Annunciation Road and Prentiss Street, near the Ruggles T stop and behind Boston Police headquarters. At least one may have been arrested on the other side of Tremont, at Warwick and Hammond streets:

Murder in Charlestown

Boston Police report a man was shot to death Wednesday night at McNulty Court and Walford Way in the Bunker Hill project.

The victim, a black male in his 20s, was transported to Mass. General, where he was pronounced dead. This is Charlestown's first murder this year.

South Boston woman found murdered in her apartment

Boston Police report Barbara Tagen, 65, was killed in her apartment at 385 Dorchester St. sometime before her body was discovered around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Police found her body "suffering from trauma."

Man shot to death in Dorchester

Boston Police report finding a man, 26, with multiple gunshot wounds around 7 p.m., Saturday, at 11 Fayston St.

The man was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. He is Dorchester's 19th murder victim this year (map).

Boston Police report finding a man in his mid to late 20s with multiple gunshot wounds behind 18 Hosmer St., around 4:10 a.m. He was pronounced at the scene.

Man stabbed to death in Dorchester; arrest made

Boston Police report a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death around 12:10 a.m. at 92 Sumner St.

Lester James, 24, of Dorchester, was arrested this afternoon on a charge of murder, police say. He is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow in Dorchester District Court.

The victim, not identified by police, is Dorchester's 18th murder victim this year (map), but the first in August.

UPDATE: Boston Police report one of the victims has died, and that both victims, both in their 20s, were "well known to police."

Boston Police tweet two people were shot around 9:30 p.m. yesterday at 3 Kensington Park, off Warren Street. The Globe reports one was shot in the head.

Man murdered with shot to the back of the head after harbor cruise

Boston Police report the man had been on a harbor cruise on the Viking Starliner and that a fight may have broken out on the ship. The victim, identified only as a man in his 20s, was shot on the dock after the ship had pulled in around 2:20 a.m., police say.

Channel 7 reports he was shot in the back of the head and that police are looking for a white SUV.

The shooting was almost three years to the day after another man was shot to death after getting off a harbor cruise ship by Pier 4. Police continue to look for Courtney Wilson's killer.

Man inside Brighton apartment building shoots one in chest, now shooting at cops

UPDATE, 5:40 p.m. Randy Moore, is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow on murder charges in Brighton District Court, the Suffolk County DA's office says. The neighbor he allegedly shot to death was 70, used a wheelchair.

UPDATE, 12:53 p.m.: Suspect reported in custody.

17 Ledgemere Rd., opposite Chestnut Hill Avenue. SWAT team, negotiator, additional officers from across the city on the way. The man periodically comes out of his apartment and fires shots. One victim, shot in the chest, is inside the building.

Chestnut Hill Avenue is shut between Chiswick and Jackson.

The building is part of the John J. Carroll Apartments, a BHA complex of garden-style apartments aimed at elderly and disabled residents. The MBTA sent in a bus to help evacuate residents.

Boston Police report three people were shot around 3:45 a.m. at 3964 Washington St. A woman, 43, and a teen, 17, were pronounced dead at local hospitals. A man, 34, was also taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

On Thursday, two people were shot on Durnell Avenue, near Washington on the other side of Roslindale Square; both victims are expected to survive.

On June 5, two people were shot, one fatally, in the Archdale project, also off Washington.

Man shot to death in South End

Boston Police report a man in his early 30s was found shot to death at the corner of East Berkeley Street and Harrison Avenue around 4:50 a.m. - around the corner from where the MBTA recently put up a prominent tower-mounted camera. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four shot at Franklin Field, one dead

Boston Police report four men were shot around 12:20 this morning and that one died tonight.

Police say the victim, 20, was found at the shooting scene at 40 Ames St. The other three fled before police arrived and were found elsewhere. Two victims, 18 and 21, were found on the other side of Harambee Park at 148 Talbot St. and are expected to survive. The fourth man, 20, was found at Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but is expected to survive, police say.

The dead victim is Dorchester's 17th murder victim this year (map).

Man stabbed to death off Shawmut Avenue

Boston Police report a man in his early 20s was found lying on the ground around 4:40 a.m. at 25 Trotter Ct.. He was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple stab wounds.
