Massachusetts Greens deny Darfur genocide

Further proof the Massachusetts Green Rainbow Party is concerned with more than just the environment and gay rights comes from the minutes of its Aug. 6 state committee meeting, at which party leaders adopted the following:

The GRP State Committee asks our slate-of-candidates to make Palestine and Lebanon campaign issues, e.g., by putting a line on their flyers saying 'Divest from Israel, not from Sudan'

The GRP will ask the GPUS to take a position recognizing the recent history of US imperialist intervention in Sudan and opposing divestment from Sudan and opposing expanded foreign military intervention in Sudan, i.e., something similar to the GRP position.

GRP requires all candidates endorsed by GRP to support our statement on Palestine (just like we require them to support equal marriage, they should also be opposed to Israeli apartheid in Palestine.)

One committee member blamed Zionists for anti-Sudan activism.

Anti-Israel party to make ballot after all?

Political Intelligence reports that it looks like the Green Rainbow Party, which has made Israel a campaign issue, and whose co-chairperson calls Israel an illegitimately formed entity, will collect enough signatures to get its statewide candidates on the November ballot.
