Boston Police report arresting a security guard after he allegedly pistol whipped a man, pointed a gun at him and then, when the man was down on the ground, began kicking him.

Police add that luckily for all concerned, the security guard, Andrew Pierre, 34, could not have actually shot the man because he'd loaded all the magazines in both the guns he was packing backwards. Read more.

WBZ reports police tracked Wes Doughty from Middleton, where he allegedly carjacked somebody and tied him up with a seatbelt, to Tremont Street in Roxbury, where he stopped to pick up something to drink at Hollywood Liquors - which let his victim untie himself and escape.

State Police report Doughty then drove away in the man's gray, 2006 Accord, Mass. plates 7KLY80.

A Suffolk County grand jury has indicted Atlantic Drain Services of Roslindale and its owner, Kevin Otto, on charges of manslaughter and misleading investigators for the October drowning deaths of Robert Higgins and Kelvin Mattocks 14 feet down while working on a trench at Dartmouth and Tremont streets on Oct. 21, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. The Zoning Board of Appeals today approved a plan by a Dunkin' Donuts franchisee to fill in an empty storefront on Tremont Street at West Street with a new Dunks.

When open, the location means people needing a Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee while standing at Tremont and West will no longer have to walk an entire two blocks to the Dunkin' Donuts at Tremont and Park or Washington near Winter and Summer.

He's lucky he escaped. Chan's business is Trapology, in which people pay to be locked into a room, then try to escape, using clues and puzzle solving to figure a way out.

Workers digging a hole outside 10 Tremont St., around the corner from City Hall, hit a six-inch gas main around 8 a.m., the Boston Fire Department reports.

UPDATE: BFD reports second worker drowned.

A water main gave way shortly before 1:10 p.m. at Dartmouth and Tremont streets, with at least one worker trapped as the water rushed in. Around 2:20 p.m., the Boston Fire Department reported firefighters were draining the trench to recover his body. Read more.
