The Globe reports on an accident at Tremont and Winter streets this morning. Boston Police report the victim suffered a head injury in the crash.

Boston Police tweet a burst water main at 1050 Tremont St. has shut the road and is, of course, screwing up traffic on nearby streets.

The MBTA reports that because of the street closure, the 43 bus is making running on Columbus rather than Tremont.

Chelsea man charged with plowing into Tremont Street pedestrian while drunk

Boston Police report arresting Harjeet Singh, 50, on charges he blew through a red light around 6:50 p.m. yesterday and knocked down a woman crossing the street at West Street.

The woman, being cared for by a U.S. Park Ranger when police arrived, was taken to Tufts Medical Center and is expected to survive, police say.

Police say that when Singh stumbled out of his car, an empty liquor bottle fell out with him.

Boston Police report a Dorchester teen never intended to buy the phone he'd agreed to from somebody he met through a Craigslist ad. Unfortunately for the kid, police say, when he grabbed the phone from the seller in front of the Loews cineplex on Tremont Street, where they'd agreed to meet, and then ran, the guy chased after him - and grabbed him at Charles and Boylston, where a passing officer noticed them grappling.

Steven Mejia, 19, of Dorchester, was then arrested on a charge of unarmed robbery.

Sinkhole shuts historic cemetery

The city has shut the Old Granary Burying Ground on Tremont Street as officials try to figure out what caused a deep sinkhole at the rear of the cemetery - and what to do about it. Those cones don't look like much, but they mark a wooden sheet covering a hole big enough that officials don't want to worry about a tourist disappearing in it.
