Jack E. Robinson won't run against Steve Lynch again

The perpetual candidate writes he's decided against running, although he doesn't say why. Two other Republicans, Keith Lepor and Vernon Harrison, are looking at taking on the incumbent.

Robinson says he commissioned a poll that found Lynch only had a 42% approval rating in the 9th District.

Undead candidate could rise again: Jack E. Robinson thinking about running against Steve Lynch

Robinson tells Red Mass. Group the Brown numbers in the 9th district have him considering a rematch against the South Boston congressman. Alas, the commercial he used last time is a bit out of date, but heck, there's gotta be a sequel in there somewhere:

Did Jack E. Robinson mail the wrong people?

Red Mass. Group reports people who signed a petition to repeal gay marriage in Massachusetts got mailings this weekend from Robinson touting his "progressive" values, which include support for gay marriage. Because, of course, nobody would ever send out such stuff in an attempt to deliberately turn people against Robinson, right?

Car-crashing grope denier could get onto Senate ballot

The Herald reports Jack E. Robinson filed 10,900 signatures at the last minute to get onto the Republican ballot for the special Senate election. As long as 10,000 of those signatures - which the Herald says he spent $100,000 to collect - are valid, he'll face off against Swearin' Scott Brown in the primary.

Ever the optimists, Red Mass. Group explains why this will actually help Brown win the final election.

Speaking of Brown, the Herald reports the ex-Cosmo model is married to an ex-"murderous, bikini-clad vixen" from a Digney Fignus video, or, in other words, Channel 5 reporter Gail Huff.

Congressman Robinson, I presume?

Devone ponders:

It will be interesting to see how the Massachusetts press will spin a Jack Robinson victory if he defeats unpopular incumbent Stephen Lynch on November 7. ...

Ed. Ninth District Note: I don't particularly like Lynch - I have never voted for him - but, honestly, the chances of Robinson beating him next month are about equal to my odds of being elected Prince of Wales.

Jack E. Robinson is running for congress?

Man, he's one of my favorite perennial candidates - how can you not love a guy who crashes his car on the Jamaicaway while calling into WBUR - while denying allegations he was a groper?

Still, who knew that this time he's running for congress in my district, against Steve Lynch? Hey, anybody know what ever happened to Mildred Jefferson?

OK, OK, probably more important about this race is this question: Why hasn't the 9th-district race gotten more attention? No, not because of Robinson. But because it pits a pro-war, socially conservative Democratic incumbent against an anti-war, progressive Democratic challenger, Phil Dunkelbarger. On Blue Mass. Group, Janalfi wonders as well:

... Frankly, I'm surprised that he isn't getting more attention from the Lamont win. I mean, the Globe did an article on anti-war candidates running against incumbents across the country and didn't even mention the race in their own hometown. What's up with that? ...

Today's Globe story, which only ran in the City Weekly and Globe South sections.

Dunkelbarger podcast interview.

Adam Reilly wonders if Dunkelbarger isn't missing an opportunity to do some viral videos.
