Proposal for the old Pig 'N Whistle

Attorney Paul Rufo and diner owner Robert Zaffreo hold up possible renderings.

Robert Zoffreo of Belmont, who now owns the shuttered Pig 'N Whistle Diner on North Beacon Street near Market Street, tonight showed off preliminary plans for re-opening the 70-seat place - to hearty applause from the members of the Brighton-Allston Improvement Association, who are mostly old enough to remember it from its heyday before it closed in 2002. Pig 'n Whistle diner

The Pig 'N Whistle at N. Beacon and Market streets served its last meal in 2002, but at least from the outside, it doesn't look like it would take too much to get it up and slingin' hash again. Read more.

Kristin drives over to Watertown for dinner at the Deluxe Town Diner but leaves after 30 minutes of being unable to order anything of the vegetarian ilk:

... The waitress could have at least told me which other options I couldn't have the first time I tried to order. I really wonder if they EVER have tofu loaf. ...
