The Boston Licensing Board today ordered a one-day license suspension for Walsh Wine & Spirits, 388 Washington St. in Brighton Center, which police detectives cited on July 19 for selling tequila, rum and other drinks to two guys who were under 21, in the latest such incident at a place that had become popular among Boston College and Boston University students. Update: Board rules restaurant not at fault.

A dispute over a shove inside El Jefe's Taqueria, 269 Huntington Ave. in the Fenway, early one May morning ended with a woman beaten to the ground and a man whipping out a gun and shooting up a car that had nothing to do with either the victim or any of her attackers, police and the restaurant's owner told the Boston Licensing Board this morning. Bus/bike lanes on Huntington Avenue between Brigham Circle and Gainborough Street will be made permanent by the end of the year with the addition of red paint, after the MBTA and BTD said today that 39 and CT-2 riders are saving up to two minutes per trip during the morning and evening commutes when compared to the same period in 2019. The Boston Transportation Department has decided this is the year of the 39 and 57 buses - and has launched studies to see how to improve their routes to get people to and fro faster - and let them "wait comfortably at their bus stops and board the bus safely." Read more.

Car in crash stops the E Line

Transit Police report that around midnight, a 22-year-old driver from the Framingham suburb of Ashland was speeding down Huntington Avenue when he blasted through a red light and then "crashed into a traffic pole and somehow landed on MBTA GL M.F.A. stop." Read more.

Update: The Case was scheduled for trial last week but was dismissed after the Suffolk County District Attorney's office declined to prosecute.

Boston Police report arresting Dayne Taylor of Mattapan, whom they say pointed a gun at a clerk at Symphony Market, 291 Huntington Ave., yesterday afternoon after he "became agitated that the smoke shop portion of the store was currently closed."
