Around 530 p.m., a motor vehicle got up close and personal with both a bus and an E-Line trolley. Extensive damage to the car; no injuries. The Green Line is now suspended between Brigham Circle and Heath Street; riders are supposed to hop on a 39 bus instead.

A deceased trolley near Boylston is playing hob with the Green Line (an hour or so after another trolley flatlined on the E Line); a train is pushing up daisies at Alewife on the Red Line.

Officials from the Huntington Theatre, the company that now owns its building and the city announced a deal today in which the theater company will stay in what's now called the BU Theatre on Huntington Avenue and the owner will redevelop the space around it. Read more.

Boston Opera House on Huntington Avenue

Among the items in the New York Public Library's online collection of Boston images is this postcard showing the Boston Opera House on Huntington Avenue.

It opened in 1909, thanks to a last-minute donation from Eben Jordan (as in Jordan Marsh), never really did very well and then, in the 1950s, when the BRA was in full Tear Down All the Things mode, Northeastern got permission to tear it down to put up what is now Speare Hall. Read more.

The driver of this 18-wheeler managed to get his trailer stuck nice and tight on the barriers at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Huntington tonight, as CraigglesOfDoom shows us (Here's another view).

Two buses, two cars in Huntington Avenue crash

Matthew shows us the "horrific multi-car, multi-bus accident" on Huntington Avenue in front of the Star Market and the Marriott around 8.15 p.m.

WFXT reports the charter bus hit several cars before crashing into the MBTA bus. Injuries, but all minor.

The Huntington News reports Northeastern Police officers came upon three guys attempting to use a bolt cutter to remove a bike at a campus bike rack Saturday afternoon. The three managed to flee, one holding an orange bolt cutter. But an hour later, police responding to a similar incident at a bike rack outside the Museum of Fine Arts found and this time detained bolt-cutter guy, who turned out to be a juvenile, who got to stew in the NUPD lockup for a few hours until his father arrived to pick him up.

Outbound trolley halted by protesters.

About 50 Northeastern students protesting in support of higher wages for both adjunct professors and people who make the minimum wage blocked the E Line at Forsyth Street for several speeches and chants this afternoon. Read more.

Tree asks people to stop putting trash around it at the base of  Mission Hill

Chris in Boston noticed a tree at Huntington and South Huntington avenues had a request for passersby this morning: Stop leaving trash around it.

Ed. note: Given its location, the tree should probably also be asking people to drive more carefully in the rain and not crash into it.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. between the Boston House of Pizza and Sal's Barbershop, at 319 Huntington Ave.

The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of the victim's injuries. Read more.

Uncovered steps at Symphony Green Line station in Boston

Tim Lawrence photographed an entrance to the inbound side of Symphony station that had been buried in the 1970s, but which re-emerged in 2012 and again this week as part of an ongoing construction project.

Pointing out a hole on Huntington Avenue

Time was, people would just take photos of potholes and file them with Citizens Connect. But possibly following the lead of the Brighton thumbs-down citizen, this concerned citizen points out a hole on Huntington at Wigglesworth to make sure the city doesn't miss it.

Derailed Green Line trolley on Huntington Avenue

Michael Femia reports a trolley acting as a plow got stuck on Huntington Avenue by the Museum of Fine Arts around 12:30 p.m. Yacques reports it derailed and took out a street light and hit a pole.

In the photo above, that yellow thing was the plow attached to the front of the trolley.

Moron with some snowpack

Jonathan Berk watched in amazement as a snowbank drove by on Huntington Avenue in the Back Bay this afternoon.

Oh, and in response to the doubters, he adds:

Took a right off West Newton onto Huntington. It was moving. Trust me.

Stanley Stacos reports police are looking for two shotgun-toting robbers for a holdup around 1:45 p.m. at Mission Main near the intersection of Huntington and South Huntington avenues.

One suspect was described as black with a gray scarf around his face and a short black jacket, the other as Hispanic, also with a short black jacket. Both were short.
