Around 6 p.m., at the Roslindale Barber Shop, 4256 Washington St. in Roslindale Square (next to where El Chavo used to be). BFD quickly doused the flames, but Washington Street was shut to traffic and T buses. An ISD electrical inspector was requested to check out the wiring.

Protester would rather bang a pot than listen to Trump

As the president spoke on TV, about 35 Roslindale residents gathered in Adams Park with pots and ladles to bang out a protest, in a Latin American-style demonstration known as a "cacerolazo."

For 45 minutes, they stood near the Poplar and South end of the park, banging their pots and occasionally taking a stroll around the park. Read more.

WalkUp Roslindale is sponsoring hour-long standouts over the next month at key Roslindale intersections for the next four Saturdays, starting in Roslindale Square.

Roslindale residents, city politicians and Keytar Bear gathered this morning at the old Boston Elevated substation to formally open the new Craft Beer Cellar and to take a look at the state of the cavernous main space, which will become a Chris Douglass restaurant called the Third Rail. Read more.

The renovated building where the Haitian restaurant that replaced the other Haitian restaurant used to be on Washington Street across from the Dunkin' Donuts is now festooned with signs letting us know that the larger space will become a Sam's Food Store, a whole block away from the Tedeschi, while the smaller space will become a Cricket mobile-phone store, handy for people who don't want to walk down the block to the other mobile-phone store, let alone to Corinth Street or up Washington for the other mobile-phone stores.

Let's Wait - 3 Drinks in Love [Official Video]

This past summer, Let's Wait spent two nights in Roslindale Square, filming a music video, "3 Drinks in Love" - including inside the soon to be gone Jerusalem Trading.

You can watch and hear them live on Thursday at Thunder Road in Somerville.

And that makes two entries in the Roslindale song list, along with Roslindale by Birdbrain.

For the second time this month, a community meeting on a proposed Roslindale development that would be small by South Boston or Forest Hills standards raised fears that Roslindale is about to be rushed by developers who will try to completely overwhelm the neighborhood with projects far denser than allowed under a rezoning plan worked out by residents and the city only a few years ago.
