The mall heard Patty and responded not long after:

Sorry, someone must have put it in too soon! It's supposed to start playing just before Black Friday.

The Tab reports that somebody didn't just swipe an $87,000 pair of earrings at Shreve, Crump and Low at the Chestnut Hill Mall:

Sometime between the end of August and the end of September, someone swapped out $87,000 earrings with cubic zirconia. ... A certified gemologist had walked into the store at the end of September and immediately noticed the fake jewelry. ...

The other day, Greta and I had just ended an expedition to one of Dedham's many fine Big Box Retail Outlets when she tripped and scraped her knee. Ow, ow, ow! I helped her hobble over to the car, and as we drove home, of course she cried and yelled about how much it hurt, poor thing. But she's one of these kids that, once she gets on a roll, she just can't stop, so soon she was complaining about everything else that was bothering her:

I'm hungry! I'm thirsty! Why'd they have to close Filene's, anyway? Why does Macy's buy all the good stores and close them down?

Um, what? She's upset about Filene's closing? What?

Mary Richardson at the Chestnut Hill Mall

Nancy was coming out of the Chestnut Hill Mall this afternoon when she spotted Mary Richardson loading up her silver SUV with bags from Crate and Barrel.

Being a sociable sort, Nancy said "hi!" Richardson warily responded with a "hi" of her own, with body language that seemed to indicate that was all she wanted to say. So Nancy kept walking to her car.
