Bank robber from Miami, F.L.A.?

Wakefield Police are hunting a bank robber they say dressed up for a walk on the wild side - right down to the falsies under his jacket.

Police say the man wore bright red lipstick, "large, dangling earrings on each ear," makeup and a gold scarf with a floral design when he entered an Eastern Bank branch shortly before noon on Feb. 10. Also, he carried a purse.

The slim, 6'2" guy got away with an unspecified amount of money after handing a demand note to a teller, police say.

Just before 8 this morning, I passed MBTA bus 0435 on southbound Main Street in Wakefield. The bus was sitting on the side of the road with the engine compartment open. There were two T mechanics and a supervisor on scene.

Assuming the bus had been in service when it broke down, it was apparent that whatever riders were on it had already been transferred to another bus, as there were no other people milling around.

It's the feelbad story of the day: Elderly couple has their handicap ramp stolen. And you know it's going to be all over the airwaves (to be followed up by a heartwarming story involving a local carpenter volunteering to build them a new one for free).
