So far this cold January morning, trains have died on the Red, Blue and Green lines and the Worcester Line is experiencing major delays.

At 8:34 a.m., Tanya K. tweeted:

Two empty, broken down trains we will be pushing in. 1000+ frozen, frustrated people cramming into this one. MBTA Red Line. Good times.

A few minutes later, Candice Springer added:

Thank you, MBTA for stranding me outside on the Wollaston platform in the EFFING cold. Now I have to go all the way back to drive in to work

Charring crosses up T riders

So far this morning, a charred 39 bus was towed from Huntington Avenue near Brigham Circle and buses had to be rolled out for the C line when an overhead power line came down near Cleveland Circle.

Teen tackled from behind, robbed at Newton Highlands T stop

Newton Police report the attack happened around 10:30 a.m.:

The victim was on the T platform when she was attacked from behind and thrown to the ground. The victim's cell phone was stolen during the attack.

Police report, however, five arrests were made.

Trains die on three of four subway lines

So far this morning trains have had to be taken out of service on the Red, Orange and Riverside lines. The E Line is stopping at Brigham Circle because of a car accident further up the line. No word yet from the Blue Line.

MBTA to Green Line fare cheats: We're gonna getcha

The Metro reports MBTA inspectors will be swarming 12 key Green Line stops today and through the end of December for a "fare enforcement blitz." The T also plans to seek legislation to increase the fine for fare evasion from $15 to $100.

The curse of the E line: SUV vs. trolley on Huntington Avenue

Local 718 reports two injuries in the crash around 10:50 p.m. near the firehouse at 560 Huntington Ave.

D'Amico reports it looks like the SUV driver attempted to make a left turn in front of the trolley.

E Line service is, of course, suspended until after the victims are extricated and the investigation completed.

A roving UHub photographer didn't have to rove very far last night - he went to his window - to take this shot of the Green Line tracks:

Last night a car lost control, jumped the median, and crashed on the tracks at Griggs St stop. Apparently the driver ran away immediately after the car stopped. No one apparently was hurt. -- Just many confused.

Time flies when you're having shuttle buses

It seems like only yesterday that the T shut down service past North Station, doesn't it? The T reports trolley service all the way to Lechmere is scheduled to resume the weekend of Nov. 5.

No Red Line service between Broadway and Kendall this weekend

So the T can install an elevator at Park Street. Look for shuttle buses instead.

The T says Green Line service through Park Street will be unaffected.

Workers repairing Green Line tracks in Brookline had a little extra work last night

Somerville gets green line

Granted, it was made of paper, but no matter: Local residents and officials held a mock groundbreaking tonight for the Green Line extension, now scheduled to arrive in Somerville sometime over the next century or so. The Somerville Transportation Equity Partnership posts photos.
