Mission Church broken into third time this month

Boston Police report the Tremont Street basilica was robbed on Nov. 29, just six days after the last time somebody broke into it and two weeks after the first burglary this month. Police say they suspect the two most recent breaks were by the same person.

Police say officers are meeting with officials at local churches to discuss security measures they could take.

Boston Police report this guy broke into Mission Church on Tremont Street sometime Sunday night, by smashing a window.

Unlike the last break in, however, this time the guy got away with nothing because the donation boxes he targeted had already been emptied.

Boston Police report they are looking for whoever smashed through a 100-year-old stained-glass window at Mission Church to steal the contents of two poor boxes.

The break, reported this morning at the Tremont Street basilica, meant the loss of $200 to $300 in donations, along with the cost of repairing the window and a small window inside the church, which was also broken, police say.

What is it about Mission Church that makes the out-of-town kiddies want to break into it? For the second time in seven months, police report arresting young'uns for breaking into a building at the Mission Church complex. This time, it was seven people, between 19 and 22, allegedly spotted breaking into a church building on Smith Street shortly after 10 last night. Six of the seven came out only after the police yelled they were going to sic a K-9 on them; the seventh later turned herself into police.

Based on stuff like Facebook and student directories, two of the seven look to be Wesleyan students. One of the four who list Roxbury addresses could be a Simmons student.
