Foreign doctor, family get their passports back

The MBTA reports the Khan family's passports, stolen the other day at the Wonderland T stop, were found in a mailbox in Burlington:

No money - No bag or other property. Post Office clerk called after seeing it on TV.

A doctor from Dubai who got on a Blue Line train at Wonderland shortly before 5 p.m. yesterday with his family says whoever took the black bag he left on a bench can keep the $3,500 in cash and the international airline tickets that were in it - he just wants their passports back.

The bag contained the passports for Dr. Zeeshan Khan, his wife Yasmin, son Raiyan and daughter Sayeema.

The MBTA says an inspector managed to board the train and asked if anybody had seen the bag or who took it. One person said "he believes a male took the bag and got off at Beachmont station," according to a Transit Police report.

However, surveillance video did not show anybody at Beachmont, Revere Beach or Wonderland with a bag matching Khan's.

A man charged with bringing live ammunition into Suffolk Superior Court in Boston was released on bail Friday morning and then arrested on Revere Beach Friday night with a loaded gun, extra ammo and enough knives to outfit a violent basketball team, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Jack Lindsey, 66, of Chelsea, was arrested by a state trooper who had stopped to see what he was doing by an area of the beach known for its illegal clamming, the DA's office reports, adding Lindsey was also found with a shovel.

This was the fourth time Lindsey has been arrested for illegal weapons possession; he's barred from owning guns as a condition of his conviction for illegal gun possession in 2001, the DA's office reports.

Winthrop man convicted of OUI - for eighth time

Prosecutors plan to seek prison time for a Winthrop man found guilty today of driving drunk and then attempting to use the bench he was chained to at a State Police barracks as a weapon against arresting officers.

Joseph Limone, 61, will be sentenced Feb. 21 following today's conviction by a jury in Suffolk Superior Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

"From what we've seen, nothing short of incarceration is going to keep this defendant off the road," District Attorney Dan Conley said in a statement. "We'll be seeking prison time."

On the 11 o'clock news last night, Bouchard seemed worried that, after two years of little snow, we wouldn't know how to deal with the foot of snow the National Weather Service now says we could get, starting as early as Thursday night.

The Revere Journal fills us in on the search for an armed local man who allegedly took over a local club through threats and some actual violence. At one point, the Journal reports, the guy and an accomplice beat a club employee with a rifle butt, then kidnapped him - losing him when he managed to jump out of their moving car.

Hernandez (l) and Jacques.MBTA Transit Police report arresting two guys who didn't take kindly to news early this morning that a T worker wouldn't personally drive them back home and that a cab driver wouldn't take them to Blue Hill Avenue for a flat $20.

Ivan Hernandez, 22, of Dorchester, and Jevaun Jacques, 21, of Mattapan, face a variety of charges for a melee outside Wonderland station around 1:30 a.m. that police say started when they went up to a T employee, said they were T workers themselves and that he should drive them post haste to Blue Hill Avenue. When he refused, police say, they kicked his car. Then, police say:
