NBC Boston reports multiple cars were hit in the Squire Road parking lot of the Showcase Cinemas.

Confession: After spending three hours in the un-air-conditioned concrete box that is the Board of Appeals hearing room in City Hall, the UHub Mobile Action News Unit had to escape - all the way to Revere Beach for some Kelly's by the sea.

Quite a few people had a similar idea, although most were better dressed for the circumstances, like in bathing suits. The more adventurous ran straight into the frigid waters - where none stayed for very long.

Where I-95 was supposed to go in Revere

Undead I-95 remains in Revere.

The unfinished northern half of the cloverleaf in Canton where 95 was supposed to head into Boston from the south is perhaps better known, but there's also the undone right-of-way where the highway was supposed to come out of Boston and smash through some marshes in Revere at Copeland Circle - which our own Cybah walked today.

The State House News Service reports on the approval by the state Gaming Commission. The move clears the way for the massive redevelopment of the site on the Revere/East Boston line, although racing should continue for another year.

Revere police officer Angela Halcovich was arraigned today on charges she beat two children in her care and then let her boyfriend, fellow Revere cop Marcos Garcia, beat them as well, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Prevailing sentiment in progressive haunts is “2016, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” Between a stressful election season, acts of terror, and the crisis in Syria, many of us will be glad to see the calendar page turn on Sunday night. Still, to every cloud there is a silver lining, and at least when it comes to tackling climate change in the US, Massachusetts was a bright spot amidst the clouds of 2016.

The Revere Journal reports problems at a Saugus power plant caused noises so loud they could be heard in Revere. Specifically, a "silencer" that normally muffles the anguished screams of steam being vented from the plant's two boilers.

Rick Macomber posts some video showing a car whose driver went around some a down and flashing crossing gate in Revere last night, only to have the back half of her car immediately taken off by the commuter-rail train that was the reason for the gate to lower. The driver and a passenger got out OK, but for some reason they decided not to wait around for police.

The Globe reports the real backers of Question 1, which would carefully define a trailer home in Revere as a possible site for a slots parlor, screwed up and filed their financial forms too early, so now we know that, rather than just one guy living somewhere way outside the continental US, the real backers of the ballot question are a bunch of casino developers.
