AlertNewEngland reports the following BPD alert around 10 p.m for West Roxbury Parkway and Washington Street:

Large group of males dueling with golf clubs.

They must have played through, however; they were gone when officers arrived.

Apparently George Wright and McGolf were just a little too far away for them

There were two guys hitting golf balls on the side of the West Roxbury Parkway by Weld Street this afternoon - one of which rolled under our car as we headed toward Roslindale. Idiots.

Normally, when a road gets torn up, you can expect weeks of unremitting commuting pain as you navigate among the barrels and raised grates. I was certainly expecting that when crews started tearing up the parkway between Washington Street and just past Bellevue Hill Road on Monday. But by last night, they were actually finished - the road is nice and smooth and all that's left is to put down the permanent lane stripes.

Every time there's a heavy rain, this woman, who lives on the southbound side of the VFW Parkway, just past the West Roxbury Parkway, dons her boots and raincoat and goes out with a rake to try to keep the storm drain and "dry" catchbasin outside her house clear, to minimize the damage from flooding. She's been doing that a lot lately.
