Roslindale residents have launched an online petition to voice their opposition to a development proposal that would shoehorn up to six condo buildings, 12 units, and a paved driveway network onto 104–108 Walter Street along the edge of the Roslindale Wetlands Urban Wild.

Roslindale bank robbery suspect

The Cooperative Bank, 40 Belgrade Ave., was held up shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday.

The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force reports the suspect handed a teller a demand note, got money, ran away. If he looks familiar, contact Trooper Mike Hughes at 857-386-2580.

Boston firefighters responded around 10:15 a.m. to 4360 Washington St., between Rosecliff and Albano streets, for a garage fire that did an estimated $250,000 in damage and sent one firefighter to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

WCVB reports that State Police are combing land around Turtle Pond off Enneking Parkway for Joseph Brancato, 21, last seen several weeks ago on Mendelssohn Street in Roslindale, where he was staying with a Marine recruiter. NECN reports that among the agencies that sent investigators to the area is NCIS, which investigates possible criminal activity in the Marine Corps.

Ardale Street is a one-way street in Roslindale that ends at Centre Street by a 7-Eleven. One fed-up resident files a complaint:

Vehicles are constantly driving up our one way street. Drivers turn left out of 7-11 parking lot and go the wrong way even if they know they're doing it. I just saw someone who lives on the street do it. She does it like 10 times a week. I don't know what to do about this. There are already one-way/do not enter signs.

The Boston Fire Department reports carbon monoxide coming from both a malfunctioning stove and an improperly vented furnace at 741 Hyde Park Ave. killed a man, sent two women to the hospital and displaced 15 other residents this morning. Read more.

Harvard's Arnold Arboretum says it's put a controversial proposal to put solar panels on an open field at Walter and Weld streets on hold.

Still, five city councilors have written Harvard President Drew Faust to make clear their objections to the plan - and request that Harvard use a neighboring parcel instead.. Read more.

The Roslindale Community School Council reports the Flaherty Pool had to be shut this weekend after the heating and ventilation system failed, and that it could be weeks before it's fixed.

The pool got a multi-million-dollar rehab in 2013.
