A Domino's driver was beaten and robbed of his pizza, money and car on Florence Street near the Flaherty Pool shortly before 9:30 p.m. Police recovered his car on Florence at Cummins Highway. Suspects were described as three black males in their late teens or early 20s, one in a black hoodie, another in a gray hoodie.
An allegedly drunk guy upset at being denied entry to Napper Tandy's, 4187 Washington St. in Roslindale, late on July 29, whipped a plastic nip bottle in the general direction of the bar. He missed the bar but hit a man who just happened to be walking up Washington Street at that moment.
That man went up to the guy, said "you just hit me with this bottle," and then punched him and kept walking, a Boston police officer told the Boston Licensing Board this morning. When police arrived, they discovered the nip flinger had an outstanding warrant and arrested him. The puncher was nowhere to be found.

A Suffolk Superior Court judge today freed Frederick Clay from prison, where he had been serving a life term for the murder of a cab driver at Roslindale's Archdale project in November, 1979, "after a reinvestigation by the DA’s Conviction Integrity Program led [DA Dan] Conley to conclude that justice may not have been done at Clay’s 1981 trial," a spokesman said today.
