WalkUp Roslindale, a group that wants to make the neighborhood even more walkable, will hold a walk around Roslindale Square next week to tabulate all the problems with local sidewalks, traffic signals and intersections to present to the city departments that can fix them.

Starts at 9 a.m. on Dec. 5 inside the old Select Cafe space on Belgrade Avenue.

A federal judge last week sentenced Iskender Kapllani, owner of the defunct Arbri Cafe on Belgrade Avenue, to 15 1/2 years in federal prison following his conviction for running a cocaine ring that distributed the drugs out of the restaurant. Read more.

State Police report they are investigating why a 44-year-old Roslindale resident was walking in a travel lane on Rte. 128 south near Exit 15B (Rte. 1) around 5 p.m.

The collision killed Marjeta Ziu and sent the driver to a local hospital with minor injuries, State Police say.

A man wanted for a stabbing on Friday who was holed up with his family in a third-floor apartment in Roslindale's Archdale escaped police by jumping out his third-floor window last night, WCVB reports.

If you live in the path of Logan Airport departures there's no doubt you were unable to sleep the morning of Saturday, October 31, 2015. He's a chart of the flights from about 5:30 A.M. to about 9:00.

A sleepless citizen files a complaint from Cornell and Kittredge streets in Roslindale:

Awful piercing loud beeping noise outside every 10-15 seconds near intersection of Cornell and kittredge, for two days now, round the clock- what is it and who can shut it off?? Its maddening.

Ed. question: Could it be a smoke detector going off at the house that caught fire at Kittredge and Glendower a couple nights ago?

FIrefighters working to put out fire on Kittredge Street in Roslindale

Firefighters attack fire from above and below.

A fire did extensive damage to the third floor and roof of 314 Kittredge St. in Roslindale this evening.

Boston firefighters responded around 6:15 p.m. to the three-story house for a fire that quickly went to two alarms. Read more.

Architect of proposed Roslindale Square condos points out buildings

Immediate neighbors of a 19-unit, two-building condo proposal for land behind the Roslindale Square municipal parking lot raised issues of setback, privacy and loss of sun at a BRA meeting at the Roslindale Community Center tonight. Once the developer and his architect agreed to work on those, the talk turned, as it usually does, to parking - and the issue of increasing the housing stock in a neighborhood that has been largely been unaffected by the building boom hitting other parts of the city.
