Flipped car on Beacon Street in Brookline

Rami reports the driver of this car somehow flipped it at Beacon and Charles streets in Coolidge Corner shortly before 9 p.m.

Fire crews worked hard hard to pull driver out. She seems okay.

MassDOT announced today that it's installing specialized traffic signal systems along Beacon Street in Brookline, and Comm. Ave. and Huntington Ave. in Boston that will switch to green lights for approaching trolleys. Mass. Ave. in Cambridge will get similar treatment for buses. Read more.

Aline Kaplan introduces us to the architecture and possibly haunted history of the Charlesgate, a hotel turned dorm turned rooming house turned dorm again turned condos at Beacon Street and Charlesgate on the edge of the Back Bay.

The glowing spirits of horses that died in a flood have been seen on the ground floor where a stable was supposedly located. The building’s original plans show no stable on the premises, although you can have night-mares without real horses.

Transit Police report arresting a Canton man for "conducting himself in a lewd manner" on a C Line trolley as it approached Coolidge Corner around 9:30 p.m. yesterday.

Robert Widberg, 53, already a Level 2 registered sex offender, was formally charged with open and gross lewdness.

Brookline Police report a motorist who'd just parked on the inbound side of Beacon Street yesterday opened his door into the bike lane - and a bicyclist in the lane was unable to stop in time and rode into it. The driver was cited for failure to use safety when opening a door. The bicyclist was not hurt.

Looks like somebody's stolen Robert Gould Shaw's sword again from the memorial across from the State House.

The T says service was pretty durn good on the four subway lines thanks to all the investments in things like new third rails and plows and dispatch centers.

So far this morning, the T has reported Red Line problems that include dead trains at South Station and near Ashmont, signal and switch problems on the Braintree branch and at Park Street. Green Line trolleys ran even slower than usual on the C line.

But as of 9:50 a.m., the T says everything's back to normal.

White ghost profiles in Boston Common

Greg Cook attended Sunday's World Day of Remembrancemarch from Copley Square through Boston Common and vigil in front of the State House.

Many of the walkers carried white outlines with the names of people who died in crashes. Activists have begun putting these markers at the crash locations. Not everybody is a fan of the idea.
