New sidewalk open on Washington Street in Forest HIlls

Longtime Arborway observer Clay Harper took a look at the new sidewalks around Forest Hills station today:

WCVB reports ISD inspectors responding to a complaint found the dog in a car on Burroughs Street near Jamaica Pond today; rushed the dog to Angell Memorial, but it was too late. The owner could face charges.

I just discovered today that Roche Bros. in Westie will no longer accept plastic bags for recycling. Is there anyplace else? Online searching brought up Targets and and a place on River Street in Hyde Park as the 'closest' options.

The Board of Appeal today approved a developer's plan to replace a one-story industrial building at 114-120 Brookside Avenue that now houses 10 studios for artists and artisans and replace it with a four-story building with nine residential units and three commercial spaces. Read more.
