On the heels of a tense meeting on a proposed giant dog park in Hyde Park, DCR officials return to Boston's southern tier in a couple weeks to discuss putting a dog park on the Southwest Corridor off Anson Street, a couple blocks north of the Arborway.

City Councilor Matt O'Malley, who first proposed a dog park somewhere in the corridor, posts the meeting notice: 6:30 p.m. on April 5 at English High School.

Spare Change News reports the BPDA yesterday approved new development guidelines for the Washington Street corridor that call for 40% of new residential units to be affordable. Activists, who had staged a two-day sit-in in Mayor Walsh's office to press demands the number be at least 55%, were ejected by police.

The Globe reports the Boston Housing Authority is looking to find a private developer willing to replace some of the buildings at the Mildred Hailey Apartments in exchange for being allowed to build market-rate housing on vacant parts of the complex.

The BHA has increasingly used this model to renovate its projects in the face of declining federal funds for the work, most notably at Bunker Hill in Charlestown.

As residents from the area around South and Rosemary streets filed into the conference room at Curtis Hall tonight, they were a bit tense: They'd gotten vague notices summoning them to a meeting about a "proposed project" at 162 South St., and these days, along that stretch of South Street, that can only mean one thing: More condos. Standstill on Washington Street in Roslindale

3 p.m., more or less, is when roads all over the city went to hell - especially the ones with hills. Washington Street from Roslindale Square to the Dedham line became a skating rink. A bus slid into a car at Beechland Street.

Columbus Avenue from Egleston Square north turned similarly impenetrable. A salt truck got stuck at Bragdon - its supply of salt gone.

Shortly after noon, somebody got very angry while walking down Forbes Street in Jamaica Plain, angry enough to file 17 complaints (with 17 photos) with 311 about houses whose owners he or she wants cited for not shoveling their sidewalks. Read more.

Boston firefighters responded to the Forest Hills Orange Line station around 4:30 p.m. for what turned out to be a flame-shooting switch. The fire was quickly doused with firefighting chemicals, but power was shut on the inbound track so that firefighters and the T could investigate what happened. BFD declared an "all out" about 18 minutes later.

Around 11:15 p.m. in front of the donut shop. Police are looking for two suspects - a black man and a Hispanic woman - who fled towards South Street. The victim's injuries did not appear life threatening.

Transit Police report they are looking for Carmelo Maldonado, 50, of points unknown, for stealing at least three bikes from the Stony Brook stop on the Orange Line.
