Anti-abortion people scream at his wife; he screams right back

Aaron Gouveia videoed his confrontation with two anti-abortion protesters outside Women's Health Services on Harvard Street earlier this year. He accompanied his wife there to have an abortion after doctors told them their 16-week-old fetus, the one they'd already picked out a name for, had mermaid syndrome, no kidneys, no bladder and no chance of surviving. And, he writes (cached version), he couldn't take it when these two women started screaming at his wife:

... Hell is watching her entire body convulse with sobs because she's being tortured with grief. For as long as I live and no matter how many children we have, I will never forget that sound. And I vowed to do everything in my power to make sure she’d never make it again.

Across a crowded street, two people with "God Is Pro-Life!" signs and pictures of torn-up fetuses managed to drive the blade in even deeper. Again, I was left trying to console the inconsolable, feeling even more helpless this time, because I wasn't allowed into surgery with her.

Running on pure adrenaline, and without even a hint of a plan, I grabbed my cell phone and crossed the street. ...

I drove past the Harvard St Mobil gas station at 198 Harvard St, Brookline and the whole place was swarming with Brookline Police and FBI agents.

Related to the Watertown raid. Channel 4 tweets the raids are related to the money trail that may have been involved with the failed Times Square car bombing, rather than being a search for co-conspirators - and that there could be more raids.

Speeding driver on Route 66

Gnomi reports on a 66 bus driver who had to slam on his brakes to pick her and other riders up this morning on Harvard Street - because the driver was desperately (and futilely) trying to stick to his schedule. In a letter to the T, she asks:

... Are you truly training drivers that the way to compensate for running late is to drive unsafely along heavily populated areas? That goes beyond stupid to reckless. The 66 bus is notorious for not keeping to its schedule, but the answer is not to encourage drivers to endanger both those inside and outside the bus.

David Brand, a BU student, recounts an incident early Saturday on Harvard Street that still has him upset - especially since it happened around the same time as Shawn Dow's death above a bloody brawl:

... On Friday night, a group of 3 guys yelled at my friends and I when we passed them on Harvard Street.

"Fags! Hippie fags!"

Big deal. Clearly (though apparently not so clear to me when I was drunk and eager to flex my beer muscles), these kids were looking for a fight. After something, probably a beer can, struck me in the head I turned around and confronted who I thought was the leader.

Bam. Blind-sided by his friend, who unleashed a flurry of punches on my face and skull. After the "fight," we were mercifully pulled away from each other. ...

The next night, a BU student walking in Kenmore Square was robbed at gunpoint by a hoodie-wearing thug on Beacon Street:

The victim said she passed the man as he was pretending to tie his shoelace. She said she then heard him running toward her and turned to face him as he ran up behind her with his gun drawn, demanding she give him her purse.
