Mike posts a report and photos of the aftermath of a rollover at 1504 Dorchester Ave. in Fields Corner that required the use of the Jaws of Life to get the driver out and which left a parked car and several light poles heavily damaged.

Maybe Spare Change Guy is just tired of Downtown Crossing and the Common? Around 8:30 this morning, Tracey Newman tweets, MBTA police escorted him out of the Savin Hill T stop on the Red Line. Not long after, Dan Tobin spotted him nearby on Dorchester Avenue, asking for, yes, spaaaare chaaaange.

Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on attempted burglary charges early this morning after, they say, somebody living near JJ's Irish Pub and Grill, 1130 Dorchester Ave., watched him go around back and then heard a series of banging noises.

The banging came from Dennis Reddy's attempts to kick the bar's rear door down, police say. Officers arriving around 5:21 a.m. caught him with a pry bar, a saw, bolt cutters, a hammer, a long screwdriver and a pair of gloves.

Reddy, 57, was also charged with possession of burglarious tools and trespassing.

Yo, King! There are these things called snow shovels. You might want to buy a couple and then use them so pedestrians who make the mistake of walking on your side of Dorchester Avenue after a snowstorm don't have to risk getting pancaked in the street because you couldn't be bothered to clear your sidewalk.

Boston Police are apparently getting tired of dealing with angry motorists acting out in traffic delays caused by construction along Dorchester Avenue (including one who is charged with sending a couple of cops to the hospital), so they've issued an advisory that construction will continue today at Dot. Ave. and Freeport. They add:

The work being done is expected to cause and create a certain level of delay and inconvenience.

The Dorchester Reporter relates the saga of a woman who, on getting impatient with sitting in traffic at Freeport Street and Dorchester Avenue yesterday morning, took off with two cops still attached to her car - after first kicking a third officer.

Boston Police tweet that the Bank of America branch at 1440 Dorchester Ave. was held up by three men around 11 a.m.
