David Yamada doesn't think much of the Orange Line ads that posit lack of a Big Mac stuffed in your mouth as the sort of mental issue that one more typically sees advertised on clinical-research ads between Forest Hills and Oak Grove:

I'm sorry, but the ad is just too close to the real thing to be funny.

Looks like Warby Parker, which undercuts chain prices on prescription glasses through its online store, is looking to set up a physical store in Boston.

1. I can not believe neither Pressley and Arroyo Jr have entered the contest as of yet. If either candidate enters or if they both do, I believe that both could make the finals finishing 1st and 2nd. For instance if both Pressley and Arroyo Jr entered the Mayor's race and they both made it to the Finals, (They finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the 2011 At-Large race with both beating Connolly who finished 3rd), Whoever lost would be the number 1 contender and favorite for the 7th Congressional District if Capuano runs for Governor as expected in 2014.

2. I felt that Tito Jackson missed out on a major opportunity to grab the pole position in this race by not running. If Tito ran, he could have won.

3. There will be a huge vote that comes out in the South Western side of the city with intense campaigning by Connolly, Consalvo, and Conley. These three could split up their base bigtime allowing none of them to even make the finals.

The National Weather Service says dry air and gusty winds are enough for a dreaded Red Flag Warning about brush-fire conditions in eastern and central Massachusetts:

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR SHORTLY. ANY FIRES THAT START MAY SPREAD RAPIDLY AND BECOME DIFFICULT TO EXTINGUISH.

The warning is set to expire at 5 p.m.

The Galway Independent finds an area man who used to live here to exult that state Rep. Marty Walsh would make a great mayor, at least as far as Galway is concerned:

If he were elected Mayor of Boston, I think he would try to push and pursue whatever kind of collaborations and links between Galway and Boston that he could. He would be great for Galway, there's no doubt about that.

The Dorchester Reporter alerts us that the Roxbury district councilor isn't looking to change offices at City Hall this year, which is too bad, because we could really use a candidate with his own music video - or even one who can play a mean keyboard:

Yesterday, the MBTA warned the tax increases proposed by the legislature were so small it could jeopardize $500 million or in anticipated federal aid for the Green Line extension. This morning, as A.P. Blake noted at 8:55 a.m.:

In the past two hours, every rapid transit line in Boston has suffered some delay due to mechanical/signal failure.

A lawsuit by key members of the local taxi industry against upstart Uber is now a federal matter - San Franisco-based Uber yesterday had the suit transferred from state court to US District Court in Boston.

In the suit, Boston Cab Dispatch and EJT Management charge Uber, which lets customers use a smart-phone app to arrange a ride, violates state law, which requires taxis in Boston to carry medallions.

The companies charge Uber lets drivers refuse rides to certain neighborhoods. As East Boston residents know, city law prohibits medallion drivers from refusing rides there.

Oh, you just know they'll be burning the midnight oil at the Inside Track tonight, trying to figure out which married male Boston celebrity who was having money trouble last fall tried to pick up some sweet young things at Venu.

The reason we know is because a Lowell man is facing federal blackmail charges today for trying to extort $20,000 from the guy for an incriminating video he claims to have taken there.

Sour grapes at the Herald? With bonus gratuitous quote from some lawyer making accusations with no apparent facts behind them:

If he was a reporter on deadline and he's distracted and making phone calls and texting, then that's something that adds to his fault. You're not supposed to be distracted in a cab, you're supposed to focus fully on your job," said Douglas Sheff, a Boston personal injury lawyer and president-elect of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
