UPDATE: The Herald reports state Rep. Marty Walsh of Dorchester is running.

City Councilor Matt O'Malley (Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury) this week took himself out of the running for mayor this fall. But in an e-mail to supporters today, Councilor Felix Arroyo (at large) says, yes, he's thinking about running - but first he wants to see if he can raise the $1 million he says it would cost:

A man raced out of the Mt. Washington Bank branch, 515 Centre St. with a bag of money around 2:15 p.m., just as the neighboring Curley School was getting out for the day. The man knocked one of the students down in his rush to get away, dropped the money bag, was nabbed by a couple of officers around the corner on Spring Park Avenue. Some of the money in the bag flew out, but police say good Samaritans collected it and turned it in. The student, meanwhile, was taken to a local hospital by his grandmother.

Food blogger (and attorney) Richard Auffrey says he's given a local chef an ultimatum: Move out of town or he'll post details about how the guy is using meat from "large scale, out of state farms" instead of the little locally sourced purveyors his restaurant's reputation is staked on.

Greg Cook reports on the Great Burlesque Exposition at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge last night:

Daytime workshops this weekend address hand-sewing, "tantalizing shimmies," contracts, "tassel twirling," marketing, obscenity law, body image, and "dancing in shoes you shouldn't be walking in." Vendors sell corsets, lingerie, vintage clothing, leather, wigs and jewelry.

The evenings are devoted to burlesque shows, like the opening night's "The Rhinestone Revue," featuring a lineup of prominent dancers from across the country and winning performers from previous years' Boston burlesque expos. The audience for the first night is more women than men. There's a party atmosphere.

Compare to this dancer, from back in the day when Boston still had actual burlesque houses:

Check out her fans.

So far, most of the speculation about who will join John Connolly (oh, OK, and Will Dorcena and Charles Clemons) in the race for mayor has focused on people who have already held public office. Chris Faraone ponders the possibility that one of our local Bloomberg wannabes might want to break open the piggy bank and waltz into City Hall:
