The Crimson reports Harvard, Cambridge and State Police will be patrolling the areas around Harvard upperclass residences next Wednesday to keep freshmen from getting bombed as part of the annual celebration of housing assignments:

Dingman cited safety as a primary motivation for the increased security, recalling dangerous acts performed by intoxicated students in recent years. He further criticized the role River Run plays in perpetuating a negative stereotype of the Quad Houses.

Really Good Fakes Review

Site advertises fake licenses with your own info.

Back in the day, the only way for somebody under 21 to get a drink was to borrow or steal an older sibling's or friend's license and hope the doorman or waitress didn't look too closely.

The Boston Business Journal reports on an effort by mechanical-engineering students at Northeastern to create a sort of sensor web around a bicyclist that would alert the rider to any cars getting too close:

Laser lights are also added to the bicycle to project a bike lane onto the street, so that the cyclist knows where the bike's safe zone is. If a vehicle gets too close to the zone, the lasers - which can be seen during the day - will blink. Vibration technology on the bike will also cause the handlebars to vibrate if cyclists speed up as they approach an intersection.

But all good things come to an end and the kids tried using a Ford Ranger to haul the boat out of the water. Instead, State Police say, the boat pulled the pickup into the river. State Police now advise:

If you are trying to pull out a boat from the Mystic River, be sure your truck can handle the pull!

UPDATE: Licensing Board ordered a four-day suspension: Three for serving the minors, one for owner Joseph Cimino's actions during the police investigation. Cimino can appeal to the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission.

It was bad enough, police say, that they caught four underage Northeastern students inside Daisy Buchanan's with Bud Lights. Even worse was that owner Joseph Cimino tried to keep them from questioning one of the four - after he had already tried to flee out the back - two detectives told the Boston Licensing Board yesterday
