sunset
Not the most dramatic sunset, but still a pleasant way to end a warmish day at the giant dog park that Millennium Park in West Roxbury seems to have become (it was amazing how many people were there at sunset with their dogs today).
Over Centre Street this afternoon/evening.
Be rushed out to see a Maxfield Parrish sunset.
I took this shot from the top of Millennium Park this evening about a minute before a parks-department employee with a rather strict definition of "closes at dusk" started kicking out sunset watchers. Fortunately, there was also a rather nice view from the bottom of the hill, just beyond the park gate: Read more

From the parking lot of the Roslindale Village commuter-rail stop today.

It sure was something. Above shot of the sun going down over Hyde Park and West Roxbury taken from the dropoff on DeForest St.

From Cleary Square to the Readville train station, Hyde Park Avenue and its side streets make up a fascinating corridor, mixing the remains of Boston's industrial past (although, yes, some of the factories still remain operational today) with nature views.
Above: Sunset from across the Amtrak/commuter rail tracks.
Below: Sunset over the Mother Brook, at its confluence with the Neponset River at Dana Avenue. Question: Why is the brook still clear while the river (a small piece of which you can see to the left) is frozen over? What's in the water?

Charles Q photographs yesterday's unusual sunset over the Charles.

Had a couple of errands in West Roxbury this afternoon. When I got back to the car, I looked up and knew I had to head over to Millennium Park, which overlooks the Charles.
I wasn't the only one with that idea:

Same sunset further down the Charles.
How can I say no to a sunset photo?
Yes, I really am a sucker for a good sunset over Boston photo.

River Street this afternoon.

The scene out my office window a few minutes ago.
I am contemplating buying tickets to tonight's sunset in Boston, but in the end, I am disappointed:
...tonight's Boston showing of the sunset is apparently sold out. Tickets had to be purchased ten days in advance over the Internet, and the article we found was in Thursday's Boston Phoenix, which came out too late for us to buy tickets in time.
