The Daily Free Press reports the Boston University Center for Computing and Data Science's new policy is that students can use AI "if they properly credit the tool and include an appendix showing where and how AI tools were used." It does quote one lecturer, though, who feels AI is sort of like calculators were back in the day: It's OK for advanced students who already have the basics down, but intro students shouldn't use it to get answers instead of learning those basics first.

Boston Police responded in force to 855 Commonwealth Avenue around 7:50 p.m. on a report of a shooter. BU then sent an alert, which prompted students seeing or hearing anything suspicious to call 911. Read more.

The manager at a Fenway bar says that before a woman - underaged, it turns out - collapsed on the dance floor and began foaming at the mouth, she tried to get in with "five or six small airplane bottles" of booze in her purse. Read more.

The Boston Licensing Board today approved letting a Japanese restaurant on Boylston Street near Mass. Ave extend its hours to 2 a.m. - and approved a new Indian place a couple doors down that also plans to stay open until 2 a.m. Read more.

Boston Flyovers alerts us that four fighter jets will fly low and loud over Fenway Park - which means they'll also fly over other parts of the area - during Thursday's Red Sox opening-day ceremonies. The ceremonies start at 1:30 p.m. and run through just before first pitch, scheduled for 2:10 p.m.

Update: 2 a.m. closing time approved - for both this place and an Indian place a couple doors down.

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to let Tori Japan, 1110 Boylston St., where Teriyaki House used to be, stay open until 2 a.m. to serve the ravenous needs of nearby college students who think nothing of staying up until all hours. Read more.

Boston Restaurant Talk reports that the owners of Our Fathers deli, which closed on North Harvard Street in Allston last year, plans to move into the space Tasty Burger is leaving on Boylston Street in the Fenway to move around the corner to Van Ness Street.

The Daily Free Press reports that Monday afternoon, police were called to the third floor of the above-ground Warren Towers garage, 700 Commonwealth Ave., on a report of a hawk. Police eventually called in Boston Animal Control, which was unable to capture the raptor.

WBZ reports officials at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum shut the museum today, the 33rd anniversary of the infamous painting robbery after learning climate activists planned to use the occasion and the museum to promote their cause - and the fear something could happen to damage the remaining artwork.

That the Regal Cinemas have closed was not the biggest surprise - we knew it was going to happen - but the way it suddenly shut down this weekend was - some people had pre-bought tickets for the latest Ant-Man and the Wasp movie and everything. Also, you can tell the people who own Regal don't know Boston based on what they consider is in the vicinity of the Fenway.
