first time riding the commuter rail in a year and a half and there is a 50 minute delay. i forgot how much the train sucks. thanks mbta

Those darn wet leaves: They're wreaking havoc inbound on the Worcester Line this morning, wth delays of up to 30 minutes.

UPDATE: Curse those leaves! Reports are flooding in of delays on several lines.

At what point do you just let the passengers out because walking would be faster?

Nightmare commute on the Worcester Line

The MBTA reports a series of cascading delays on the Worcester Line this morning, most notably what it says is a one-hour delay between Wellesley Hills and Boston on the 7:35 a.m. inbound train.

One hour? JTboston, who is actually on the train, tweets at 10:02 a.m. he's now been on the train for the past two hours. He posts a photo of his shoe, because, really, what else is there to do on a train that's just sitting there?

Worcester Line service is ending in West Natick tonight thanks to a whole lot of burning trash in downtown Framingham.

Worcester Line train crashes at South Station

The inbound Worcester MBTA train just crashed into the platform at South Station. Several people were injured. Most are ok.

WBZ tweets 12 people are being treated for minor injuries, adds the injured were all people standing waiting to get off the train. Local 718 tweets two people had to be put on backboards, one elderly.

And, of course, last night, two Worcester Line trains almost collided head on near Back Bay.

Worcester Line commuter Phil Hochmuth alerts us via e-mail that the new automated station announcer thing on the Worcester Line was programmed to pronounce the two stops after Framingham as West Nah-tick and Nah-tick:

The conductor taking tickets laughed each time the announcement came on.

Commuter hell: Stuck on a train outside Yawkey station for 1 1/2 hours

Brandon Merritt reports from a Worcester Line train stuck about 2,000 feet past Yawkey. There's a switching problem of some sort that requires some guy from CSX to come in and fix it - which he finally started doing 90 minutes after the train stopped. Some people are abandoning the train and walking down the tracks because the train crew won't back the train up to the station. The smokers on the train are lighting up. The toilet is disgusting. And the only video he has on his iPhone is a Nick Jr. show.

UPDATE AT 8:37 P.M. Merritt tweets his train, the 6:35 local, has started to move, slowly - as has the 6:15 express in front of his train.

A couple who met on a Worcester Line train are getting married on the train today, the Globe reports:

... Richey, 36, and Miller, 40, will exchange vows on the inbound P556 between Southborough and Wellesley Farms as the train rolls along on its normal schedule. ...

Around 10:30 this morning, kag65 sent a Twitter note to the governor:

@MassGovernor Worcester needs more affordable public transportation to Boston and the suburbs. No incentive to take it, otherwise. Thanx.

And 12 minutes later, MassGovernor tweeted back:
