White guy in scally cap sought for South Boston bank robbery

The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force reports it's looking for a guy who walked into the Eastern Bank, 470 W. Broadway, on Monday morning and demanded money, which he got.

He's described as white, 5'10" with a thin build, about 25. In addition to a scally cap, he wore a black UnderArmour hoody and jeans with an emblem on back.

There's a reward for information leading to his capture. Drop a quarter to the task force at 617-680-4525.

Sovereign branch in Charlestown held up

Boston Police are looking for a white guy in a gray van for a holdup this morning at the Sovereign Bank branch at 437 Rutherford Ave.

The man, about 5'7" and in his 30s, has a scar on his face and was wearing a white hoodie with writing on the front and a black ball cap. He was last spotted in a 2004 Ford van, Mass. registration 889 0CF (UPDATE: Van found in Charlestown, abandoned).

West Roxbury credit union held up

Boston Police tweet the City of Boston Credit Union, 75 Spring St., was held up this afternoon by a guy in a gray sweatshirt and blue scrubs and with a face mask on.

The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force has released a couple of photos of the woman they say held up the Sovereign Bank branch in Maverick Square last Wednesday.

She's described as 5'3" with brown hair, about 110 lbs. and in her 20s. She was wearing baggy pants and a hoodie that said "PINK" on the back.

Brian D'Amico reports the Sovereign Bank branch at 780 Gallivan Blvd. in Dorchester was held up shortly before 1 p.m. by "a clean, good looking white female," who is blonde, about 5'6".

Woman sought for Back Bay bank robbery

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force reports the Sovereign Bank branch at 575 Boylston St. was held up Friday by a woman with a note.

She's described as white, 5'1" with a medium build.

She wore a black North Face jacket, a black baseball hat and sunglasses, and carried a large black pocketbook.

Boston Police report they are looking for a man who held up the Eastern Bank branch at 155 Dartmouth St. around 1:50 p.m. on Monday.

He's described as white, about 5'7" and in his mid 20s. He was wearing a dark gray knit cap, black sunglasses, a dark sweatshirt and undershirt, dark sweatpants and a white and pink knit glove. He was last spotted heading up Dartmouth to Boylston.

The Sovereign Bank branch at 125 Causeway St. was robbed this morning by a man who was apprehended at Staniford and Merrimac streets by one of the Federal Protective Service cops who rushed out of the O'Neill Building after Boston Police reported the robbery.

On Tuesday, another hapless bank-robbery suspect was quickly nabbed after running out of a bank across from City Hall - thanks in part to a police detective who happened to be using the bank ATM at the time.

Christopher Washburn, 34, was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bail today on charges he held up the Citizens Bank branch at 1 Center Plaza - across from City Hall and around the corner from BPD District A-1 - around 12:30 p.m. yesterday, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Unfortunately for Washburn, a Quincy resident, a plainclothes Boston police detective happened to be using the bank ATM just as he was fleeing, the DA's office says:

Boston Police are looking for an SUV-driving white guy for the hold-up of the Eastern Bank branch at Centre and LaGrange streets around 1:30 p.m.

He's further described as being about 6'2" and wearing a black Nike cap and black sunglasses. He was reported to be driving a black mid-size SUV - Westie bank robbers don't bother messing with public transit.

Boston Police report the Sovereign branch at 1 Beacon St. was held up around 8:40 a.m.

The suspect is described as white, 5'11" and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a white hat and carrying a green nylon bag and was last spotted headed toward the Park Street T stop.

The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force is looking for a man who held up a Financial District bank at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon.

The man is described as white, in his mid-20s, with strawberry blond facial hair.

He was wearing a long sleeve grey shirt underneath a short-sleeve dark gray T-shirt, grey sweatpants and a blue Polo baseball cap.

Boston Police report they found a woman who'd just robbed a bank in Downtown Crossing handing out money to kids in the South End thanks in part to the cab driver who drove her from bank to neighborhood.

The branch was last held up in July.
