The state reports that as of 6:30 a.m., nearly 140,000 Massachusetts customers remain without electricity - NStar 36,000 (about 850 in Boston) and National Grid 103,643.

The Globe follows an NStar crew for a day and talks to National Grid about why Gillette Stadium got power before the rest of Foxboro.

Around 7 this morning, Andrea Courtois, who lives near the Rhode Island line but works in Brighton, tweeted:

Just saw a convoy of utility trucks heading S on 95. It pretty much brought tears to my eyes.

In Scituate, Art Beecher reports:

Day 4 w/o power: Have begun harboring deep resentment for these show-offs with their fancy "lights," "refrigeration," and "hot water."

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency reports that as of 7 a.m., 91,021 NStar and 339,947 National Grid electricity customers were without power.

Channel 25, local produce wholesaler among possible losers in Uno bankruptcy

~~Pizzeria Uno's~~ Uno Chicago Bar and Grill that Used to Just Sell Pizza bankruptcy filing shows the West Roxbury-based chain of not-pizza places owes WFXT $64,000 and Katsiroubas Bros. $54,000. The filing, in New York bankruptcy court also shows the company owes NStar $112,000 and National Grid $95,000.

Although the Chapter 11 filing means the company remains open for business, it is closing outlets in some farflung locations such as Fairhaven and New Hampshire.

Channel 4 reports the utility is requesting state permission to cut its May-October gas rates by nearly 66% over what it charged in the same period last year.

As a National Grid gas customer, all I can say is: Yay.

A friend currently dealing with family medical issues is told by a gas company dude that her gas pipes are ancient and they need to be replaced. OK, she says...and comes home to find her property ripped up six ways from Sunday (destroying hand-done landscaping), the sidewalk damaged, missing stonework from her yard, and...no sign of the company that was contracted by National Grid to do the work.
