Bruce has some advice for former Boston City Councilor David Scondras, now accused of trying to InterWebs-lure a teen (who turned out to be a cop pretending to be a teen) to have sex with him:

There are no 15-year-old boys (or girls, for that matter) surfing the internet, looking for cheap, anonymous sex with 60-year-old men. ...

Pow!Confined to bed and couch last week with a cold, Amy left her TV on channel 7:

... And I was struck with one constant emotion.

I really, really, really hate Matt Lorch.

Not in a personal way, though I think if I knew him he'd bug me. But I really despise his style of anchoring. I hate the way he speaks, I hate his uber-gelled hair, I hate the fact that channel 7 canned Chris May to hire this Lorch fellow. ...

David Pye, meanwhile, confesses his undying, and perhaps unhealthy, love for Liz Walker.

In the long run, probably doesn't matter, but Greg Reibman notes dueling claims in the Globe and Herald from Roslindale residents on who found the poor baby.

Jay notes that Channel 7's weather page now has a "weather blog:"

... It is not. a. blog. if the post does not have a permalink to make it directly accessible for posterity.

All you're doing then is borrowing "cool" nomenclature. It's just marketing. ...

Vigilant Dan Kennedy notices some interesting workshops posted on the boston.com user events page, involving, um, interpersonal communications skills. The listings were still up around 10:30 a.m. 7 p.m. today (note: finally taken down). A screen capture:

Michael Gee (yes, that Michael Gee) marvels that on a day in which two men are thrown out at home on the same play, all the CHB can come up with is alleged amazement that New York has two major-league baseball teams and a subway:

From televised debates, that is. Greater Boston's Emily Rooney is among the media honchos who've put together gubernatorial debates this year and she says enough is enough: The fringe candidates have had their say, now it's time for Healey and Patrick to go at it mano a mano:

... After four attempts to "do the right thing", the media consortium needs to "do the gutsy thing" and pull the plug on Mihos and Ross for the November 1st debate so voters can hear what the two real contenders, Deval Patrick and Kerry Healey, have to say, unencumbered by a sideshow.

Carl grows increasingly reluctant to give the Sports Guy a hometown discount:

... Essentially, Bill Simmons lives in an insular world in which is "cutting edge"-ness is actually tempered by his employers. He provides a few interesting ideas every three months, but ultimately his schtick is just that: contrived, expected and used way-too-much. ...

Over on the Dig, Media Farm notes that the Globe managed to write two articles about Yo La Tengo without once mentioning the entire name of its new album. In one article, it came out as "I Am Not Afraid of You." In the other, a more daring editor allowed "I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat ..."

The complete name (Globe editors, cover your eyes): "I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass."

Ezra writes that the Sunday Globe Magazine cover story on James Taylor pretty much sums up everything that's wrong with the magazine. Especially the cover photo and the long paragraph about Taylor singing "Kumbaya" to his twins while he and the author sup on poached salmon, soba noodles, bok choi and spring rolls as the kids try to snap off the writer's nose before Taylor shepherds them on a trip to Seiji Ozawa's pool.

Dan Kennedy generally likes the new look of the Boston Globe online, but wonders where all the photos went:

... One of the pleasures of reading the Times on the Web is the excellence of the photojournalism. The Globe's got some fine photographers. Can we please see their work online? ...

Nobody asked me about the redesign.

Lis Riba wonders:

... I thought I remembered last week that they were saying that Friday morning they'd be holding a concentrated pledge drive on Friday morning only, but it's been going on for over a week now, and I've heard no sign of when it will end.

Colleen Cunningham has her clock radio set to 89.7. This morning, it woke her up to 70's easy-listening Bread, followed by bird chirping followed by the classical you'd expect:

Very trippy and cheery!

I met up with bodybuilder John McClay and shot some video while he worked out at Gold's Gym in Braintree. John will be competing in the USA National Wheelchair Bodybuilding Championship this weekend.

My story came out yesterday....but the article and video is still online, if you want to check it out.

David Scott talks to Jerry Trupiano after the Sox radio announcer reads in the paper he won't be back next year:

... "If they don't want me back, than somebody should just tell me," said Trupiano. "I'm frustrated to have to read about in the paper." ...

Who knew Jon Keller and Christy Mihos were so tight that Keller would bare his teeth at Hub Politics for suggesting that Mihos is really just a Patrick sock puppet? Keller's exact words about the Hub Politics musings (that Mihos is running only to help Patrick so Patrick can re-appoint Mihos to the turnpike board; with the tie being a lawyer who helped Mihos in his turnpike court case who is now Tim Murray's spokesman):

Radio Equalizer reminds us of Jimmy Severino's, um, Jay Severin's past fun with the truth.

You really gotta feel for the Globe reporter who had to wait while a security guard confirmed he was to be allowed into last night's debate at Channel 25. Must've been rough.
