After shrinking the print business section to a couple pages in the Metro section (and, what, no more bird report?!?), the Globe today announced it's starting an online mini-site to cover marijuana in New England, staffed by two full-time reporters, a producer and, of course, an editor.

The site is, at least so far, imaginatively called Marijuana.

Mark Garfinkel, laid off by the Herald in one of its stupider moves, reports he's been hired by NBC Boston, where he'll be doing both still photography and video.

He'll probably be competing at some news scenes with Stanley Forman, a Herald-American alumnus who now shoots for WCVB.

Boston Globe logo being removed from former plant in Dorchester

Uncle Joey spotted workers removing the Globe logo from its former plant on Morrissey Boulevard, off I-93. The current owner is turning it into a high-tech incubator.

Alex Kingsbury, formerly deputy Ideas editor at the Globe, is joining the New York Times as a senior staff editor for the editorial board, where he will write editorials, work on efforts similar to the Globe's national "the press is not the enemy effort" and will also help with the Times's technology coverage.

The Herald reports Mass. General, Brigham and Women’s and Boston Medical Center agreed to share a total of $1 million in fines for violating patient privacy during the filming of ABC's "Save My Life: Boston Trauma” in 2014 and 2015 - although the hospitals say they didn't violate patient privacy.

The Massachusetts Appeals Court ruled today a worker at UMass Boston can proceed with a libel suit against the news editor at the campus newspaper, which published a photo of him in 2013 provided by campus police - who wanted to ask him whether he was photographing women on a shuttle bus from the JFK/UMass T stop to the school. Frank Holland

TVNewser reports that Frank Holland becomes a general assignment reporter at CNBC on Sept. 24.

Holland had worked as an anchorman and reporter at NBC Boston since August, 2016. Before that, he'd worked at Channel 5, which hired him from a station in Chicago.

An Encino, CA man was arrested today on charges he called the Boston Globe more than a dozen times threatening to kill its workers - including one call in which he allegedly threatened to shoot employees in the head at 4 p.m. on the day it published a pro-newspaper editorial. Read more.

All Access reports that Cox, which bought Channel 25 from Fox, is looking to sell the Dedham-based station - along with the 13 other TV stations it owns. If there's any justice in the world, somebody will form a company called Lox and buy it.

Hilarity ensued this morning when Fox & Friends thought they'd booked a pro-ICE Democratic candidate for Congress in Arizona, only they got Barbara L'Italien, a Democratic candidate in our 3rd district who opposes putting children in cages and ripping toddlers from their parents.
