Stephen Bronstein couldn't help but watch the sunset over Porter Square last night.
Porter Square
People stuck on the Red Line are reporting their drivers are telling them there's maybe a fire or maybe a police action or maybe even both at Porter Square, but whatever it is, Red Line riders would dearly love to be somewhere else right now.
At 4:49 p.m., Brian Jacobel issued a plaintive cry for help from Red Line car 01729:
The doors never opened at Harvard, we just rolled out to Porter and tons of people couldn’t get off.
Followed one minute later by a pair of tweets from Porter Square: Read more.

Mark Leonard spotted this guy on Rte. 1 today: Stephen Libman of Alliance Glass and Sign in Dorchester.
Perhaps he was on his way to or from the Fleming Printing Company in Porter Square (which Claire Blechman photographed today):

Protesters started at Tufts University, blocked up Davis Square, where the T shut down the subway station, then moved down Mass. Ave. to Porter and onto Harvard, where a large contingent of T cops blocked the portal into the busway and then had the gates to the main pedestrian entrance to the station locked. As protesters moved down JFK Street, the entrance was re-opened.

This is not a screenshot from that game. This is Hannah Malenfant's photo of the Red Line platform at Porter Square around 12:45 p.m., after the lights went out. Yes, the escalator stopped working, too, she reports.

She had departed the Porter Square MBTA Station and was walking alone on Beacon Street when her attacker grabbed her from behind and made an attempt to force her into a nearby alley. Siderea was not happy when the Porter Square Star Market charged her $2.89/lb for chicken that was advertised on sale at $1.79. She was even less happy after the cashier argued with her, told her to visit the (closed) customer service desk, and then re-rung the purchase at various prices ranging from $3.11/lb to $3.97/lb.
Now she's wondering who else has been ripped off -- and judging from the comments on her LiveJournal post, quite a few other people are unhappy with Star Market, in Porter Square and elsewhere. She helpfully links to the relevant state law and explains how to file a complaint.
