Cheryl-Anns' in South Brookline, closed since a 2021 fire, is kvelling this morning that it's gotten the final town permit it needs and it will re-open promptly at 7 a.m. on Friday - just in time for the shabbat rush.

WBUR reports that Roula Kappas, who bought New Paris Bakery in Brookline Village with her husband in 1988 is closing the shop so she can retire to Greece. Read more.

Brookline Police report their Boston counterparts found a large menorah at Church and Weld streets in West Roxbury this morning that had been stolen from Temple Emeth at the Putterham rotary in South Brookline, about a mile away. The case is under investigation.

WBZ reports the menorah, normally mounted outside the temple's main entrance, weighs 300 pounds.

Tammy must have one of those old Amphibicars. How else to explain how she survived flooding and a Florida-style sinkhole on the West Roxbury Parkway near where it meets the VFW Parkway after today's storm?
