Many of the residents who attended a BRA get-together on a 138-condo complex proposed for Baker Street where it crosses the Needham Line opposed the idea, saying that's a bad location for so many cars - 210 parking spaces proposed- and worrying about the effect on already oversubscribed local BPS schools, according to Tim Sullivan, who attended the session at the West Roxbury Elks. He added a number of residents expressed doubts the BRA would really listen to their concerns.

A developer has filed plans for a six-story luxury condo building at 100 A St. that would feature eight two-bedroom units and one with an almost unheard of four bedrooms on land now occupied by Williams Tavern and My Diner. Read more.

JDMD Owner, LLC, owned by three New Yorkers, has filed a letter of intent with the BRA to convert buildings at 33 and 61 Temple St. into 75 condominiums. Read more.

Banker & Tradesman reports Whiskey Priest and the Atlantic Beer Garden would join Jimmy's Harborside and Anthony's Pier 4 as places that used to be under a developer's proposal for a mixed-use tower designed, as these things are, by Elkus Manfredi.

A developer is looking to put 138 condos in a cluster of buildings off Baker Street, across from the Catholic Memorial baseball field and hard by the Needham Line tracks.

The BRA and the mayor's office are holding a "pre-file" meeting for residents to get a first look at the proposal, at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the West Roxbury Elks on Morrell Street. Read more.

Prroposed senior apartments on O'Connor Way in South Boston

Two non-profit groups are proposing a 46-unit apartment building for low- and very low-income seniors 62 or older on a lot that has sat vacant for more than 50 years in the Mary Ellen McCormack project. Read more.

Two non-profit groups have filed plans with the BRA to replace the old Cote Ford dealership at Cummins Highway and Regis Road with a 76 apartments - 52 in an apartment building and 24 in three townhouse buildings.

The Planning Office for Urban Affairs and Caribbean Integration Community Development say the proposed Cote Village, next to the planned Cummins Highway stop on the Fairmount Line, would remove a neighborhood blight and provide much needed affordable housing in a transit-oriented development. Proposed new building in East Boston

A developer has filed plans with the BRA to tear down three old buildings at Frankfort and Maverick streets to make way for a 23-unit residential building.

East Boston Management and Development LLC says the building, between the Maverick and Airport T stops, would include a 20-space garage and storage space for 30 bicycles. Read more.

Developers have filed plans for a city-owned vacant lot in Uphams Corner that would include 80 apartments, eight townhouse condos and a building for light-industrial and office use.

The Indigo Block, proposed by a team lead by the Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corp., would sit on a 2.75-acre lot at 65 E. Cottage St., next to the Uphams Corner stop on the Indigo, or Fairmount, Line. Read more.

Proposed building in South Boston

Architect's rendering keeps it real by giving one of its figures a scally cap.

A developer this week filed formal plans to tear down the Stadium Sports Bar at 228 Old Colony Ave. to make way for a six-story building with 28 apartments or condos - in what it's calling "a compelling precedent" for further development of the area around Old Colony and Dorchester Street.

Ryan Sillery's proposal calls for 29 parking spaces for the units, which will range from one to three bedrooms and which will include four affordable units. Read more.

Boston Magazine reports the BRA board voted yesterday to re-extend its urban-renewal powers over such bedraggled, down-in-the-dumps areas as the North End. The measure now goes to the City Council and Mayor Walsh.

NorthEndWaterfront.com reports BRA Director Brian Golden is saying he can't deal with Don Chiofaro and his proposed towers anymore. In a letter to a waterfront advisory committee, Golden says the BRA and Chiofaro are at an impasse on the size of the towers.
