Possible future site of West Station

On Tuesday, Governor Patrick and MassDOT officials will visit Allston to make an announcement about multi-modal improvements in the I-90 Interchange Improvement Project.

Kid on an Orange Line train

Transit Police say they are not amused by a kid's antics atop a hurtling Orange Line train yesterday morning. A spokesman says police are now on the lookout for him.

So there's a defunct train at Charles/MGH. Or maybe it's the train that was offloaded at Kendall. Whatevs, the Red Line is a hot rush-hour mess this evening.

Happened around 8 a.m. on an inbound Rockport train, according to Bill Kyrouz and Lisse, who were on the train.

Lisse reports the woman tried boarding the train as it was pulling out of the station. Fortunately, she says, a "quick thinking conductor" applied the emergency brake and the woman appeared to suffer only a cut head.

At accident in Davis Square, Somerville

Transit Police report on an incident around 6:35 p.m.:

A Route 94 bus from Davis Sq. heading to Medford Sq. was on College Avenue just outside the station when, a preliminary investigation suggests, a male walked into the side of the bus sustaining serious injuries. The male has been transported to a local area hospital for emergency treatment.

The state Department of Transportation today approved a $33-million contract with McCourt Construction Co. to start extending the Silver Line from the Airport T stop to Chelsea. Much of the route will be in a busway built along the former Grand Junction railroad:
