Hom's

Where was Hom's and when was this taken? The folks at the Boston City Archives wonder if you know. See it larger.

Creepy space saver

Or maybe whoever put out this space saver on Cornell Street could care less about Halloween and is just warning you what will happen if you dare to try to park in front of his house, lack of snow be damned.

Kids on a cow

Throughout the day, a steady stream of people pulled into the Hilltop parking lot to pose with the cows. Even motorists on Rte. 1 slowed to take a gander at the cows on the restaurant's last day open.

A Street stairs

Roving photographer DGA reports some Fort Point yarnbombers (spiderweb bombers?) have outfitted the rickety and long closed stairs at A Street up to Summer Street for the upcoming holiday. At least, we hope that's what happened; we'd hate to think of the spider that would have made those webs.

Logrolling

We went up to Topsfield yesterday for the last day of the fair. Saw the giant pumpkin (was so hard not to yell "It's gourdgeous!" while standing in front of it), saw our annual fill of farm animals and award-winning collections of root vegetables and took in the lumberjack competition, in which guys dressed mainly in flannel plaid shirts competed in such manly pursuits as axe throwing, log sawing and, of course, logrolling.
