Alley Turkey

If you happen to be one of the few and the proud that are able to legally park a vehicle in a public alley in the South End, beware. Of late, a new entry into the neighborhood's urban ecosystem has famously been seen stealthily, if not curiously, gobbling through its idyllic backstreets. Read more.

Hull commuter ferry to Long Wharf

I took this photo with my phone as I waited on the gangway for the 6 a.m. commuter ferry from Hull to Long Wharf. It is a photo of the boat house from which rowers from the Hull Lifesaving Museum launch their boats every Saturday morning.

Photo the JFK building. Window-Washer had the great view of the 30 Under 30 Event and the protesters wanting to get the attention of Senator Jeff Flake who spoke at the event.

But as Carr covers the US Senate race between Democratic incumbent Elizabeth Warren and her Republican challenger, Geoff Diehl, he is pushing the boundaries of just how cozy a commentator and a candidate should be

I'm guessing there is a nest of bunnines in the green space surrounding the Allston Fire Station on Cambridge Street (where it intersects with Brighton Avenue and North Beacon Street. We saw about three or four baby bunnies running around or just chilling there today at about 7pm. I picked one up to take a photo, then released it.

....aaaand I fail at posting pics properly. Can anyone help me? What should I do to get them to post properly?

Some of you may not know but I take photographs of the construction of the Silver Line Gateway Project in Chelsea. I've been doing this every month or so since the construction started in April 2015.

However, since I don't want to trespass, my photos are usually taken from public ways and sidewalks. But last Thursday (4/20), I was finally able to get a walking tour of the project with a MassDOT engineer and learn some things about the project. (Read More)

Consider bolstering your iconoclasty with a visit to The 2016 Commonwealth Pen Show, this Sunday at the Somerville Holiday Inn. The focus is on vintage and modern fountain pens, but other pens and writing paraphernalia suitable for collecting are also in abundance. Nathan Tardif, CEO of Noodler's Ink, one of the Bay State's premier makers of fountain pen inks, will be offering some products of historic significance to Massachusetts and sponsoring giveaways for young attendees.

Just noticed the weird lights atop the new high-rise at the Pru last night. I know the late Mayor Menino always championed unique designs like the "crown" n the nearby Huntington Avenue building, so is this part of his legacy, too? Either way, I think I kinda like it.
