Workers at the Panera on High Street downtown are all wearing Giants Super Bowl shirts today to settle a bet their manager made with his counterpart at a Panera in New York.

A pawnbroker dumped 900 pounds of Butterfingers candy bars in Copley Square today to commemorate Wes Welker's performance in the Super Bowl. The CEO claims he loves to talk to people; you can let him know what you think at 720-320-7777.

Code enforcement has tracked company's address and contacts; will be issuing violation for commercial dumping.

That could mean a fine of up to $1,000.

Early morning rollover in East Boston sends one to the hospital

The City of Boston Archives has posted some photos of Kevin White, including one of him talking with John Kenneth Galbraith at a birthday party for Arthur Fiedler in 1977 (as John Silber stares into the distance) and another of him shooting some pool sometime in the early 1970s.

Citizen complaint of the day: Crisis of font in the South End

An aggrieved citizen reports from Appleton Street:

The new street signs using the Clearview font are an improvement, but this sign is incorrect. The capital A is out of proportion to the lower case letters, and it is visually jarring. The signs with all capital letters, such as at the corner of Tremont and Hanson Streets, are correctly printed and look much better. The city should continue to correct this. It is a small detail that impacts the visual quality of the South End. Thank you.
