A Savin Hill man reports his dog pinned a housebreak suspect on the hood of a downstairs neighbor's car this morning - although he didn't know the kid had ransacked the neighbor's place until after he managed to run away and the police arrived and searched the place, with guns drawn.

Police are looking for whoever fired shots - at least four - at Washington and Kenwood streets around 11:10 a.m. A motorist driving down Kenwood at the time discovered a fresh bullet hole in the vehicle. The Red Line was briefly shut at Shawmut to let police search for a possible suspect who might have made his way there.

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to grant a full liquor license to Homestead Bakery and Cafe, 1448 Dorchester Ave.

Proposed manager Shiyu Wu told the board today he and his partners would run the long vacant space as a bakery between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Then, in the evenings, they would offer a series of "pop up" menus by a rotating series of chefs in different cuisines. Read more.

Update: Smashed glass due to car crashing into the place over the weekend.

A city health inspector ordered the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 465 Washington St. shut on Saturday due to glass, dust and other debris from a Saturday car crash. Read more.

Rosario Grocery, 760 Washington St., was held up around 7:40 p.m. by two people who showed a gun.

The suspects are described as a Hispanic man, about 5'7" and wearing a red hoodie and a black baseball cap and a Hispanic woman, about 5'4", slim, wearing a gray jacket. They fled through Roberts Playground.

Stanley Staco reports police found the woman with a gunshot wound around 5:30 a.m. at Norfolk Street and Talbot Avenue. The Herald reports she may have been shot in a car found crashed several blocks away, on Fairmount, where residents reported the sound of gunshots.

Police are investigating how a house on Greenmount Street was shot around 10:20 p.m. Because the bullet hole was in the rear of the house, they are looking at possible shots from Roach Street.

The owner of Truong-Thinh Market, 1305 Dorchester Ave., is admitting he paid a number of workers less than minimum wage and made them work overtime for a lot less than they should have, the state Attorney General's office reports.

Market owner Joseph Pham has agreed to pay $84,000 in restitution to seven workers for two years' worth of inadequate wages, as well as $21,000 in fines, the attorney general's office says, adding it began an investigation this past July after workers complained. Read more.
