Boston Police report a 17-year-old suspect in an armed robbery tried ditching his gun by tossing it as police closed in - which only meant an additional charge for the windshield cracked when the gun landed on it.

A man authorities say was the intended target of a gunman who wound up killing an innocent woman waiting for a parade on Blue Hill Avenue was indicted yesterday for his part in her fatal shooting, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Boston Police report a food-delivery guy who went to 25 Regina Rd. last night was robbed.

According to the victim, no money was taken but the suspects did rob him of his food delivery order. The victim states that, although he didn’t see a firearm, one of the suspects motioned at his waist area in such a way as if to suggest he was in possession of a firearm.

The BRA today approved a $23-million proposal by the Boston Teachers Union to replace its current headquarters next to the old Bayside Expo Center with a more modern structure and a parking garage.

In its initial proposal for an Olympic village, Boston 2024 proposed taking the land, along with neighboring offices and hotel, for construction of towers to house athletes - some of which would later be turned over to UMass Boston for dormitories.

The International Olympic Committee will decide in 2017 whether Boston gets the Olympics.

Boston Police report arresting Amir Richardson, 23, on charges he shot William Davis to death around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 at West Cottage and Dudley streets in Dorchester - two months after another man was shot to death at the same intersection.

The Boston Fire Department reports investigators have determined the cause of a four-alarm fire at 247-249 Washington St. Friday night as "careless disposal of smoking material rear porch of 247."

The fire caused no injuries, but displaced 30 people.

247 Washington St. in Dorchester

A fire that raced through a Washington Street apartment building displaced 30 residents but caused no injuries, the Boston Fire Department reports.

The fire at 247-249 Washington St. was reported around 7:05 a.m. and did an estimated $750,000 in damage, the department says.

Firefighters arrived to find flames showing from rear porches, the depatment says, adding the cause remains under investigation.

If Boston gets the 2024 Olympics, backers say they would fulfill part of their goal of making permanent improvements to venues by leaving behind a new swimming pool in Franklin Park after the end of the modern pentathlon planned for the park.

The pool would go next to White Stadium, which would undergo a major renovation as a venue for both the pentathlon - whose athletes compete in five separate sports - and for equestrian events.

The Boston Fire Department reports a 100x100-foot section of the roof at the old Bayside Expo Center collapsed around 7:35 a.m.

The collapse forced the evacuation of a neighboring office building.

The building, now owned by UMass Boston, had been slated for demolition this summer.

Boston Police report arresting Takisa Williams, 30, of Dorchester, today for the Oct. 18 stabbing death of Maria Sanchez.

Williams was ordered held without bail at her arraignment today on a charge of murder in Dorchester District Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
