A man's haranguing of a young Muslim woman that started on the Green Line platform at Prudential Saturday ended on a trolley when several people stood up and put themselves between them, according to one of the participants in the incident. Read more.

Mass. Ave. blocked by backpacks

Shortly after 3 p.m., the back of a tractor-trailer sprung open on Mass. Ave. in front of the new Berklee building, and hundreds of backpacks sprung out, immediately shutting the road, as Riggs shows us.

Crews moved the backpacks into the bike lane

The road towards Boylston will be shut for awhile as the trailer is completely offloaded.

Yeah, yeah, but the state really means it this time: The Charles River Basin is full of toxic cyanobacteria, which could make you feel pretty bad - and kill your dog, so be especially careful to keep Fido away from the water.

The state warning went into effect Tuesday.

The Board of Appeals yesterday approved plans to turn a long vacant storefront at 441 Stuart St., at the corner of Dartmouth Street, into a liquor store.

Back Bay Wine and Spirits will also sell high-end groceries out of the 1,000-square-foot space, its attorney, Kristen Scanlon, told the board.

Boston Police report arresting a trio of guys first spotted riding "erratically" on two scooters through Roxbury on the way to the Back Bay where, police say, they used a bolt cutter to steal a scooter parked on Boylston Street. Read more.

UPDATE: And the answer is NO. The Green Line is a mess - no service at all between Arlington and Government Center, due to a small tunnel fire that forced passengers to leave trains and walk the tracks to the nearest stop. At least one person taken to the hospital from Park Street.

The MBTA reports "moderate" delays on the Green Line due to a "power problem" at Boylston.
