Arrest made in fatal quintuple shooting

Daniel Harris, 23, was charged today with killing Alexandra Gomes in a gunfight that left him and three other people injured, Police Commissioner Ed Davis and Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley announced.

Harris was one of the four people who got themselves and Gomes to local hospitals following the incident early Sunday morning on Elder Street.

Police found Harris and another victim at Brigham and Women's; Gomes and two other victims went to Boston Medical Center.

Harris was charged with murder, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition. There was no word on whether somebody would be charged with shooting him.

UPDATE: Man arrested, charged with her murder.

The Metro identifies the dead woman as Alexandra Gomes, 19, of Dorchester. Her friends knew her as Xanda. She and four other people were raked with gunfire early this morning on Elder Street.

On her MySpace page, her friends expressed shock and promised to watch over her baby, Niylah:

Five sprayed with gunfire in Dorchester, one dies

UPDATE: Arrest made.

Boston Police report a woman, 19, died at Boston Medical Center after being shot repeatedly around 2:24 a.m. at 6 Elder St. (UPDATE: Her name was Alexandra Gomes and she had a 15-month-old daughter) Four other victims, three men and one woman, showed up at local hospitals and are expected to survive, despite multiple gunshot wounds.
