What's now missing here?

to "maximize " non fare revenue has apparently failed. Waiting at North Station tonight, I noted that the overhead LED billboards have been removed, and that the backlit post-mounted ones have had the ads removed and are shut off.

Wonder if the new GM has already figured out it's a futile effort to hire a contractor that sells ad space to companies (Qualcomm and Shire) to promote products that your patrons can't directly buy.

North Station at the turn of the 20th century

When the original North Station opened in 1893, it was pretty archy - and replaced four other stations in the area (the original name was North Union Station, because it was the "union" where four separate railroads terminated). Read more.

North Station is so crowded with people trying to get on a commuter-rail train out of town that officials have shut the doors to the station. Meanwhile, people are continuing to pile up outside, so much so that Boston Police have shut Causeway Street to keep all those people safe.

UPDATE, 1:25 p.m. The T will run buses instead of trolleys between North Station and Lechmere for the rest of Friday as it works to fix the signal problems.

The T is reporting "moderate" delays due to an Orange Line train that kicked the bucket somewhere between North Station and Ruggles. And signal problems on the Green Line at North Station mean it might take you less time to walk between there and Lechmere.

What's the easiest and quickest way to get from North Station to South Station?

Currently I take the orange to the red line but that is usually a 20 min affair in the morning and worse at 5pm.

I'm thinking of getting an electric scooter or boosted board.
