By rockportlegionband - 9/12/11 - 5:13 pmThe Rockport Legion Band, Cape Ann's community band (established in 1932) is seeking musicians on all traditional concert band instruments. We are a non-audition organization that rehearses and performs all year.
If you are a "lapsed" musician (that is, you played well in high school or college and you'd like to take up playing again) OR you continued playing after school and need an outlet to for your talents, then we may be the perfect place for you. We have players from all over the North Shore and from as far away as Woburn.

Looking for a Few Good Players

Our group is open to everyone regardless of age and without audition. Anyone who can play the parts is welcome.

Community Band Begins Seventy-sixth Year of Music
By rockportlegionband - 1/6/09 - 7:21 pmThe Rockport Legion Band, an established community concert band founded in 1932, will begin its seventy-sixth year of music-making by holding a series of reading rehearsals at the Legion Hall on Beach Street, Rockport.* These rehearsals will begin on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 7:30, and continue every Thursday evening until April 30.
Material will consist of music from the band's library, new music under consideration for programming, and a series of pieces from the turn of the Twentieth Century. The latter group includes rags, marches, galops, and popular songs from the period.
