A brawl that erupted around 2:45 p.m. yesterday at Forest Hills disrupted bus service through the station as MBTA and Boston police tried to clear both combatants and groups of teens who gathered to watch, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Full weight of the law comes down on another alleged train spray-painter

An Illinois man is being held in lieu of a total of $25,000 bail for allegedly treating Orange and Red Line trains as his own personal canvas, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office says.

Jim Clay Harper, 24, of the well-to-do Chicago suburb of Wilmette, was arraigned today in West Roxbury District Court on two counts of vandalizing property for allegedly spray-painting "ETHER" on trains at the Forest Hills T stop. He was already being held on similar charges involving Red Line trains in Dorchester, and is also suspected of tagging Blue Line trains at Orient Heights, according to the DA's office.

Orange Line riders restless this morning

Apparently lots of trains are heading toward Forest Hills, not so many going in the direction most people really want to go in the morning.

At 8:46, Travis Farrenkopf tweeted that when he got down to the platform at Forest Hills, there weren't any trains. Then one came in - and promptly went out of service.

At 9:15, Eva Badra tweeted four trains passed her in the opposite direction, with none going her way.

At 9:23, Beth summed it up:

Today the part of the Green Line will be played by the Orange Line!

Six hurt when bus driver forced to slam on brakes near Forest Hills

The Globe reports on an incident this morning involving a Route 32 bus whose driver had to stop short to avoid hitting a van that pulled out in front of it.

JP arsonist arrested, but probably not the one setting the tire fires

Because unlike the tire guy, this dude started by smashing bottles on some woman's porch on Woodlawn Street, police say. He left after the resident called police to complain about some drunk breaking bottles on her porch and sidewalk, but first he took the time to set her recycling bin on fire, police say. Boston Police tracked him down to the Forest Hills T stop, where MBTA cops were already holding him for allegedly spitting at a T worker.

Robert Coveney, 48, of North Quincy, was charged with arson and destruction of personal property.

Flameout at Forest Hills

I was driving by the lower level of the Forest Hills T stop around 2 and saw what looked like the remains of quite a fire: A gutted and blackened low-rider Civic or Accord being pulled up onto a flatbed truck right in front of the station.
